Why do people do this? It just looks peculiar and freaks me our a bit. Someone near us has actually scratched them into the paintwork around the headlights - they are already rusting.

No, people - stop it!

I agree. I cannot comprehend anyone thinking it's a good idea, going to buy the stupid things, making time to fit them and then standing back and feeling all chuffed with themselves. It is a completely alien concept to me!

MrsDoomsPatterson · 22/06/2013 08:25

Not creepy, just very naff.

delilahbelle · 22/06/2013 08:26

worse

Yes, people really do do this to their cars. I've seen one with both.

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 08:27

I saw some the other day that were so long they were practically up the exhaust of the car in front . How much do they cost, anyway? Surely cars cost enough without needing eyelashes (and presumably mascara / frequent combing out of bugs). What's next, exhaust vajazzles?

NNoooooooooooooooooooooooo. No no no. NO!

That's just so wrong on every level imagineable!

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 08:27

Delilah, that's just very, very wrong.

delilahbelle · 22/06/2013 08:28

Apparently popular in Oz...

CarpeVinum · 22/06/2013 08:31

exhaust vajazzles?

Grin
MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 08:32

Carpe, are you tempted? I reckon there's a gap in the market - perhaps I'll make my millions....

One of the women I work with has eyelashes on her car. She's 21, it's her first car and her first job. Grin
So for me it's a thing that the young and trying to be zany do. Yes it's naff, but...she#s very sweet.

ParadiseChick · 22/06/2013 08:35

I like the balls!

My dad used to have fake fingers coming out the boot

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 08:36

Hmm. I was wondering if I was just too old and past it - no longer down with the yoof. Must be Grin.

Might suggest the balls to DH for his car though.... (Really really not actually going to)

OP posts:
MakeGlutenFreeHay · 22/06/2013 08:37

Ooh, I've seen the fingers too. I think I once saw a squashed alien as well. Just peculiar!

I like the lashes although, you would never be able to go through a car wash again.

the balls are hideous.

Fakebook · 22/06/2013 08:38

My dd loves them! I told her she could get them when she buys her first car.

TheHandbagOfGlory · 22/06/2013 08:38

I've seen a lot of cars with the sticker that says "Powered by Fairy Dust!" But it's probably just petrol really.

AKissIsNotAContract · 22/06/2013 08:39

YANBU, they are in the same category as 'powered by fairy dust' and any sticker displaying who is on board.

QueenofallIsee · 22/06/2013 08:39

'Powered by fairy dust' signs..shudders

maristella · 22/06/2013 08:43

I think if them as an idiot warning system Wink as well as 'powered by fairy dust'

Yuck

FruOla · 22/06/2013 08:45

The lashes aren't my cup of tea, but cute if you're young I suppose.

Those balls are just Grin

What about VW Beetles with the fake gerberas (sp?) sticking out of the centre of the dashboard?

Eyesunderarock · 22/06/2013 08:46

'they are in the same category as 'powered by fairy dust''

Yes, my colleague has one of those as well. Smile

Locketjuice · 22/06/2013 08:55

No im young..and they are tacky! Smile

Nellabutterfly · 22/06/2013 08:59

If your car had balls AND eyelashes, would that make it a drag racer?

colleysmill · 22/06/2013 09:08

My favourite car sticker of all time I saw once said "if you come any closer you need to put a condom on"

I've seen a number of old vw's with eyelashes but not my cup of tea tbh
