Completely Unreasonable "Gives Me The Rage"...

I know we do this every so often on MN but it can be very cathartic...

My "across the road" neighbour gives me completely unjustifiable rage with his woodstaining obsession. He has a normal 3 bedroom detached house with a normal amount of windows and doors, but he sees woodstaining the wood around these as a "Forth Road Bridge"-Esque job....he does it constantly. With his wee brush, running it slowly and deliberately round the edges...

This impinges on my life in absolutely no way at all.

I asked my DH about it - WHY does B feel the need to constantly be paiting the windows and you don't. He looked up from his ipad for a nanosecond and replied "5 year woodstain...". Would it be unreasonable of me to stick a picture of some from B&Q through B's door to free him from his wood stain enslavement..??

He was doing again yesterday. DH is in the US working. I sent him a picture and said "B is doing it again...in the rain...". Apparently when my DH is away he wants pics of his children and not the neighbours that give me unjustifiable rage.

Can I legitimately go over and remove the dinky wee brush from B...Or indeed insert it elsewhere...?? I've only just got over the "guy round the corner" who spent 3 weeks painting a door a few years ago...

Maybe its wee brushes and "concentrating" faces that I hate...maybe I should start a campaign to rid the world of tiny brushes (other than for make up use before I get too flamed here...) and insist everything is slapped on in a 10 minute window with a big comedy brush..

I'll pop the wine in the freezer for later..

LaQueen, the first thing we said to our new neighbours at the back was to warn them about encroaching ground elder! In my defence, it's a fucker to get rid of once you let it get entrenched, especially when you are lazy and hate gardening like us. We just wished we'd been warned when we moved in that leaving the garden untouched for, er, a year, might not be the best move.

Sounds like all of your NDNs have OCD... or are addicted to the smell of paint/ woodstain/ car shampoo?!

BeanoNoir · 24/05/2013 15:54

Used to live opposite a lady who got a feather duster and dusted outside the front of her house every morning. Winds me up just remembering it.

glitz I've been doing that for 7 yes now they either know I'm lying or think Ive got no anti bodies.
My mate tells me to nut the first one and then stand back with a wild look in my eye Grin seriously though they can see I'm uncomfortable with it but still do it.
That will be 6 unwelcome displays of affection in approximately ten minutes.

Fortunately we could never do anything that would annoy any of our neighbours. I do nothing obsessively...

I'm lovely and an absolute treat to live beside - hence 2 houses in the first 5 houses in our street (we are the 4th) have been sold in the last 2 months....

My neighbours opposite (I have moved) really pissed me off with their never ending trail of grandchildren being dropped off, never offered to have mine. I was only jealous!

Ezza1 · 24/05/2013 16:33

Car shuffling neighbour winds me up.

His car is parked on drive, his son parks on road. At 7pm neighbour moves his car into garage and sons car onto drive.

This gets reshuffled of a morning when neighbour needs his car for work at 6am and son needs his at 8am Confused Sons car gets put on drive.

Its the weirdest and most pointless thing ever but totally fascinates me.

the thing that irrationally annoys oe is the phrase ' he / she / it / they are like little sponges' usually applied to the minds oe reception children . The most annoying over-used cliche ever

WoodStain Man Update...

He has removed the letterbox and the doorbell in order to maximise the stainng potential...

I cannot promise that after a glass of wine later I won't nip over the road and shout "Woodstain Guy" through the now gaping hole in the front door...
