Yes?

Well, Guardian reading and leftie certainly. I'm also vegetarian and have a Sociology degree .
I also feel too poor to be proper middle class at the moment but don't really feel working class either and anyway, fretting about what class you are is v middle class so...

I'm also getting annoyed with the poncey food section, especially the articles about people's dinner parties where everyone is so MC and right-on that it actually hurts.

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 08/05/2013 14:56

I`m here and in, proud to be a leftie (do we still do that? Grin) Glad to see so many here, have been a wee bit worried over the past few weeks that the majority of MN were leaning so far to the right it was going to topple over. Have never hidden so many threads before.

ComposHat · 08/05/2013 15:17

I am a guardian reading leftie but agonise pver whether I am working or middle class. Certainly mot middle class by income but probably by education. .. so the fact I am dwelling on this probably does make me middle class.

Fuck it...I'm in.

MarianneM · 08/05/2013 15:32

Count me in! We even live in North London!

Me, but I prefer the Indy too.

Lilymaid · 08/05/2013 15:51

Subscribe to the Guardian on i-Pad.
But I buy Private Eye.
I was grievously annoyed when the cashier at Waitrose tried to push a free or almost free newspaper on me recently and the only choice was DT or DM.

MarianneM · 08/05/2013 15:59

We don't have much money either and don't own property BUT

We listen to classical music and jazz.

We play piano and guitar.

We had lentil and halloumi salad for dinner yesterday.

We don't have a TV.

DH wears sandals.

I BFd both DDs for nearly a year.

DH is a stay at home parent.

I am a big fan of Alan Rusbridger!

IdaBlankenship · 08/05/2013 19:32

Am I late to the party... damn..
Guardian every Sat, Observer every Sun. I am partial to lentils and own some Birkies. My heart does bleed a lot and I do a fair amount of hand wringing also. Do I qualify?

rufussmum · 08/05/2013 19:38

Surely you need to be a cat owner to complete the stereotype. And home-school your kids. And ride a bike with a basket on the front.

I don't belong on this thread.

I've just been shopping in Asda.

I watch trashy tv.

I had sausage and chips for dinner.

Niceteeth · 08/05/2013 19:53

All of the above! Used to read The Times though, until Murdoch took over...

BestIsWest · 08/05/2013 20:03

Dear me, I accidentally picked up the Telegraph on Sunday thinking it was the Observer. Wall to wall UKIP.

IdaBlankenship · 08/05/2013 20:24

I love the Guardian website as well - really great content. Also their series blogs for Mad Men and Game of Thrones are quality

Dawndonna · 08/05/2013 20:31

Marianne If I find out you're my kid sister there will be trouble!

MsJupiterJones · 08/05/2013 21:04

usual I was in a town with an Asda the other day so I went there as a treat. I also love real life magazines and chicken kievs. Does not stop me being a right old GRMCL. Smile

impty · 08/05/2013 21:07

We take the Guardian on Sat
Observer on Sun
Sunday Times
Private Eye subscription too....

Agree and disagree with bits of each!

impty · 08/05/2013 21:08

but.. more in than outSmile

rufussmum · 08/05/2013 21:14

So being a GRMCL is a good thing then?

NorthernChinchilla · 08/05/2013 22:04

Cheerfully count me in.
Not only am I all of the above but....I have a log burning stove. The Guardian recently identified this possession as the new 'socks, sandals and muesli' way to ID one of its readers.
Proper research done by a University and everything

I suspect most people don't just read one paper. I read Guardian, Independent, Telegraph and Mail most days and am not defined by any of them.

I know quite a few leftie types who read the Telegraph for sport and the crossword.

IdaBlankenship · 08/05/2013 22:11

Ooh Northern - I have a woodburner - does that count or does it have to be a stove type thing?
