Was her determination not to let a "certain historian" patronise the rest of the panel amazing? Also thought Victoria Coren was fab .

I thought the guy who said she has done a lot for better off middle class women was right. She hasn't done a lot for the poorer paid part-time women. I don't like the woman. She speaks idealistic drivel from a position of priviledge so as such I have little respect for her.

kissmyheathenass · 04/05/2013 14:33

Chugnut, I was thinking of that too. hh was part of a group seeking to lower age of consent to 14. And worse. Hate her irrespective of her gender she is fucking shit.

ladymariner · 04/05/2013 14:33

Cannot bear Harriet Harmon, dreadful woman of the do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do variety.

kissmyheathenass · 04/05/2013 14:35

And I think she proposed that possessing childporn should not be a criminal offence. Offs.

kissmyheathenass · 04/05/2013 14:35

Not offs, FFS!

AmberLeaf · 04/05/2013 14:57

Don't like her at all and it has naff all to do with her gender.

ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmmmmmmmmm · 04/05/2013 19:56

Erm, David Starkey is not a holocaust denier......Possible confusion with David Irving?

Really enjoyed his response to clueless Corens hand wringing over lack of childcare provision in Bangladeshi sweat shops.......Grin

ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmmmmmmmmm · 04/05/2013 19:58

Harriet Harman and Patricia Hewitt ran the National Council for Civil Liberties when it was passing resolutions in support of the Paedophile Information Exchange and Paedophile Action for Liberation, and when it was publishing calls to legalise and destigmatise sex between adults and children

SirChenjin · 04/05/2013 19:59

Hate the woman with a passion. She comes from a very privileged background and knows nothing of the lives of the women she purports to represent under the guise of socialism. Self-serving and patronising.

Wannabestepfordwife · 04/05/2013 20:25

Yabu can't abide the woman and I still wouldn't be able to abide her if she was male

iclaudius · 04/05/2013 20:26

Yes op I like her too. She's matured well

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/05/2013 20:31

Thanks thingsthat, it's what I thought too.
I still think David Starkey is a horrible man though.

SirChenjin · 04/05/2013 20:44

Who is more horrible though - Harriet or David? I think I could just about cope with David, Harriet would have me fighting the urge to gnaw my own arm off.

limitedperiodonly · 04/05/2013 20:44

So, all those Harman-haters, which politicians do you admire and why?

ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmmmmmmmmm · 04/05/2013 20:47

Micheal Gove, seems highly lucid and reasonable when being interviewed.......dons flameproof suit and hides... Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/05/2013 20:48

Er, Harriet.
But the I'd put half the population before the nasty Mr. Starkey.
He has a huge intellect I grant you, but for that he left any charm out the window.
I think his attitude to the women on the panel stank.

AuntieStella · 04/05/2013 20:48

Kevin Jones. I really disagree with much of his politics, but he's got integrity.

SirChenjin · 04/05/2013 20:49

Can't say I admire any at the moment Limited. I think Nicola Sturgeon did some very good things with the NHS but I don't admire her political stance. The rest are all much of a muchness imo.

ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmmmmmmmmm · 04/05/2013 20:54

Ladybeagle,

Sort of agree - his attitude to women in general, I think, is suspect.

Brainier than a really brainy thing, though.

LondonMan · 04/05/2013 20:57

Wow. Women find it so muc easier to hate other women don't they?

I'm not a woman and I viscerally dislike her as much as anyone on this thread. I can't even give you a reason. As soon as she starts speaking my hackles rise and I want to throttle her. I think it's because she comes across as simultaneously a bit thick and patronising. Having an idiot talk down to you is extremely annoying.

SirChenjin · 04/05/2013 20:59

Was his attitude suspect or was he just pointing out that the privileged backgrounds that these women enjoyed really didn't equip them to truly understand and identify with 90% the electorate, despite what they might like to think?

Harman was dignified, Coren lightweight, Williams I thought a bit past it, who was the other woman?

Starkey was correct a lot of the time but being so patronising and the way he chose to say things just kills his message.

Chipstick10 · 04/05/2013 21:03

Oh coren is always hand wringing, she gets right on my norks, she's insufferable.
