Seems to be newly posted.

I think sometimes it's forgotten that famous people are actually real people with genuine feelings.

Don't agree with her about mumsnet just being negative and judgemental all the time though, really excellent support available on here.

I do wonder how Xenia in her high powered profession manages to spend so much time peddling her shite on here.

Working mothers more intelligent, understand child psychology better because they've probably read more books on it???

(I've read loads of books BTW) Wink

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 18:21

Oh Xenia, you do talk a lot of bollocks

Yes but laQueen if you really agreed with Xenia you wouldn't have days to spend with your kid

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:04

Kids, sorry

It is just personal choice - one way isn't better than another- one way is better for some people. Why do we need to judge?

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:11

The judging is Xenia claiming that she is a better mother than those of us who chose to work full time or not at all after having children

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:12

Duh, part time

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:13

Anyway, laQueen you can't be a very good mother because librarians don't earn over £100k

exoticfruits · 12/04/2013 21:18

Xenia can't see that those who stay at home do anything other than stay at home and do housework! It is the only time I have had a cleaner- I never had time to do the housework and we were generally out. Once I was back at work it was much easier to have a routine and get it done because there was far less variety.

And not being funny but librarians don't get paid a lot(still my absolute dream job) so your dp must be on a decent wage to facilitate it and a cleaner.

Xenia wants us all full time on 100k or we have failed as a human being.

Squarepebbles · 12/04/2013 21:25

2 or 3 days as a librarian would be my dream job,bit bloody late realising that now.Sad

Do you still need librarian qualifications?

forehead · 12/04/2013 21:33

I do agree with Xenia in some respects. I have seen too many of my close friends give up their high powered careers after having children .
This has left them in a vulnerable position and if their husbands leave them, they are basically screwed. Getting back on the career ladder is extremely difficult in some professions.
I earn my own money and have no intention of having to ask my dh for a few pounds to buy my tampons.

Squarepebbles · 12/04/2013 21:41

I don't ask my dp for anything because it is my money. He's never, ever questioned me on money. We've had everything joint for 22 years, joint mortgage, joint current account-everything.

I supported him as a student now he has been supporting me for 5 years.5 years folks not a lifetime and you don't morph into an amoeba just because you've taken a few years out to be with children you chose to have. You never get those years back.I had 3 in 15 months, every stage they go through I won't get again.I don't want to pay somebody else to see it all instead of me.

So sue me!

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:42

3 in 15 months? Shock

Darkesteyes · 12/04/2013 21:43

Getting back on topic i did have a look at Amanda Holdens twitter feed last night. She thanked her fans for agreeing with her about mumsnet and then Myleene Klass agreed with her that they should set up their own website because it wouldnt be so judgemental.
(would that be the same non judgmental attitude you used when you told Simon Cowell that an overweight auditionee was pregnant Amanda, so that he would congratulate her) Hmm Hypocritical and mysogynistic. And bleating about bullying in the Daily Mail when you have bullied in the past yourself! it just comes across as really bloody childish.

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:45

Grin @ Amanda Holden having fans

Squarepebbles · 12/04/2013 21:46

Yes let's just say they were a busy 15 months, obviously I should have been working full time throughout.Wink

Squarepebbles · 12/04/2013 21:46

Squarepebbles · 12/04/2013 21:48

I hate that show, even my dc find it cringeworthy, when are they going to pull it?

Darkesteyes · 12/04/2013 21:48

If Amanda wants to learn about bullying and the damage it does to self esteem (and yes that does include bullying auditionees) she could watch Bullied a 2 part programme presented by Jodie Marsh on Channel 5 very recently.
Got a hell of a lot more respect for Jodie than i have for Amanda.

Bessie123 · 12/04/2013 21:49

squarepebbles I'm surprised you're not rocking in a corner somewhere, your life must be full on. Even with perfect, angelic darlings that is intense. Respect.

Viviennemary · 12/04/2013 21:50

She doesn't come over as a very nice or caring person in her media persona. Especially over the Susan Boyle business. Wasn't that negative and judgemental.
