the poster who has never discovered something seemingly random that they do which is considered judge-worthy or terrible by another poster?

Leaving aside the traditional topics for conflict - breastfeeding not enough/too long, co-sleeping/controlled crying, formula - which people have very strong opinions about, the amount of stuff I've stumbled across where someone (or more enlighteningly, lots of posters) which is considered weird or just plain wrong by other posters is amazing.

Clothes (not babygrows) on babies. Not washing you towels regularly enough or washing them too often. Bottles for babies over 1. Not washing your baby's clothes before they wear them (that was a spectacular bunfight!). Forward-facing pushchairs. Playpens. Pureed weaning. Wearing shoes in someone's house. Owning a toilet brush.

Is there anyone out there who has yet to come across an odd thread that hugely judges something they do?

Dipping bread in your soup in a restaurant.

It's really bad manners apparently.

Ordering a starter in a restaurant is also poor form, so I hear

I saw both of those over the past few days. I didn't dare open them I'm still recovering from the thread that said people who didn't wash their babies clothes were TERRIBLE parents...

The one which has always stuck with me is whether to rinse your dishes in hot water or not after washing them.

someone got really quite cross and aerated about slankets once and ranted about why anyone would ever lie around ona sofa under blanket unless they were ill

See, I'd come to terms with all the obvious ones within a few months of being on MN. Formula feeding, never co-sleeping, starting smoking a little again, using jars instead of pouches to supplement weaning... I embraced the fact that despite two degrees I was an absolute chav, and common as much.

But soup? Washing? Not rinsing dishes in the correct order?!

I don't understand the peculiar obsession some people have with supermarkets.

It's a supermarket. You buy food in it.

I discovered that we basically have no pride in housework at all. I knew we were not the most motivated but hadnt realised how badly we compare. Every other thread on Good Housekeeping gets read out to DH 'do you think we should do this?' answer 'nah, we've got by ok without bothering so far'.

I don't know where they find the time to do it all!

I've been on MN for far too long and have noticed that what supermarket you shop at secretly indicates what class you belong to and what sort of person you are.

Or whether or not you put your stirrups/loo brush/potty/cat dish/dog dish in the dishwasher...

I am meant to wash DSs clothes before he has worn them? But why?

Also, starters are the best part of a meal. You can keep your pudding. I don't want it. I do want a starter though. Generally more than one of them.
