I don't think i was tbh
It was Boots. I bought a yoghurt, wrapped sandwich (thank god!)

As I went to the counter the sales assistant was sniffing then wiped her nose with the back of her hand then picked up my items saying do you want a bag....

I actually said... I would like to put those back please and change them..and really you should have washed your hands before touching them because you've just wiped your nose with the back of your hand.

She went a bit red and washed her hands with some anti bac on the counter so I wondered if someone had mentioned something earlier

But I felt very awkward like I was being difficult..but really I'm not am I?

Apologises for Lack of Capitals but typing at speed. Less offensive than poor social skills.

Cleaned my loo seat thank you. And washed my hands. Only one loo seat though.

oh, get a grip. there's more germs on the counter where your sandwich was put down in the first place.

you keep saying it's not about germs but then you say that sales assistants need more hygiene training. so you obviously do have an issue with hygiene, regardless of what you claim.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 23/03/2013 11:04

"Less offensive than poor social skills."

I beg to differ.

How do you cope with daily life if one tiny example of "bad manners" gets you so riled?

Assume you stop everyone in the street who spits, drips litter or fag butts?

VinegarDrinker · 23/03/2013 11:06

Picked up your wrapped food with the opposite side of their hand

No it wouldn't bother me in the slightest

careergirl · 23/03/2013 11:07

No. No inclination to correct the ways of the world.

Although spitting is thoroughly horrible.

You binned the food after you'd gone back to exchange them?

Are you joking?

That is disgusting. What a fucking waste.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 23/03/2013 11:11

What VinegarDrinker just said.

careergirl · 23/03/2013 11:11

Yep I did. Grossed out by manky sales assistant's hygiene

OP posts:
livinginwonderland · 23/03/2013 11:11

I don't get some of you. You're honestly not arsed that someone wiped their snotty nose on their hands then picked up your food? That doesn't even cross your mind?

no, because their hand isn't in direct contact with my food (it has wrappings) and i know that the counters in boots are much filthier than the hands of a sales assistant.

Astelia · 23/03/2013 11:12

OP I would have felt the same as you, but would have just walked away without the sandwich, saying I had changed my mind.

careergirl · 23/03/2013 11:13

right. so ok to wipe snotty nose with hand then? useful saves buying tissues

OP posts:
MarmaladeTwatkins · 23/03/2013 11:13

"Why would that bother her VD?

It's not affecting her food is it?"

Because OP is saying that bad manners leave her disgruntled and needing to "have it out" with the assailant. I think that Vinegar is wondering how OP manages with day-to-day life if bad manners offend her so much.

FutTheShuckUp · 23/03/2013 11:14

Dog with a bone springs to mind with this poster. Or it would if I believed it, which btw.....

careergirl · 23/03/2013 11:15

Uh? Need to have it out with assistant. Where did I say that????????

OP posts:
MarmaladeTwatkins · 23/03/2013 11:15

Well, if you didn't want the food, why didn't you just leave it in Boots? Confused Why would you pay for something knowing that you were going to bin it?

500internalerror · 23/03/2013 11:16

What if the poor girl had used all the tissues she had on her, & was trying to avoid dripping on the counter/your purchases? She couldn't just help herself to tissues off the shelf, and I doubt you'd appreciate a 10 min abscence whilst she went to her locker.

And throwing wrapped food in the bin genuinely is nasty and thoughtless; it makes me want to cry - you could've really brightened someone's day with that, someone hungry in the cold weather Sad

Not ok, no. Which presumably she knew because she was embarrassed that you'd pointed it out.

However, you sound absolutely nuts, throwing away perfectly good food (that was exchanged at your behest) because someone had the audacity to practise bad manners in your presence.

careergirl · 23/03/2013 11:19

Absolutely nuts.
Well thanks
