To think some posters invent their DC

nurserytea · 13/03/2013 12:58

Because they seem to spend all day, every day posting on Mumsnet. They are never off the forum, popping up on every second thread, demonstrating an encyclopaedic knowledge of OPs' posting history, past threads, current threads etc etc

Who on earth gets these 'DC' out to school, and feeds them and clears up after them and supervises their homework and cooks their dinner? Do some of you have full time maids and nannies who do all that stuff while you lounge around eating chocolates and aibu-ing?

OP posts:
TheRealFellatio · 13/03/2013 13:38

But nursery you can still do all that stuff and then get a full 9.30-2.30 day in, and them again from about 7pm until bed. You are just not trying hard enough.

freddiefrog · 13/03/2013 13:39

Mine have been at school since 8:50am and won't be home for another hour and a half.

Dinner is in the slow-cooker, I was working this morning, but now avoiding housework with a cup of tea and a toastie

MoreBeta · 13/03/2013 13:40

Ooops nearly forgot. I stripped, washed, dried and made several beds as well.

I also have perfect hair and don't ever need to wear any makeup as my skin is lovely.

TooYappy · 13/03/2013 13:41

The pretend ones? Confused Who are these people?

My Dc are at school. Then they come home and go out to play, then they take themselves for a bath/shower, OK I admit I do take time off to feed the DC and pick up clothing, but other than that, it's a breeze, DS cannot get Minecraft on here either, so he chooses to go to his grans from 4-7pm.

Such a life tbh!

thegreylady · 13/03/2013 13:41

Gosh I am real-it would be a bit pointless not to be real wouldn't it-like pretending to be a fairy and asking how to keep your wings in order...a whole useless fantasy!
I am retired and being a grandma my childcare duties only cover a few hours a week.I joined mn to help me with current thinking in childcare and to get advice on dealing with dgc without admitting to dd that I am not,in fact,Supergran.

CuriousMama · 13/03/2013 13:41

Mine are real and older. Plus I type very very fast.

But Ikwym. A lot do make stuff up. I've met a few mners so know they're real.

Sugarice · 13/03/2013 13:43

Who are the pretend ones of whom you speak?

We are not real. We are surreal.

nurserytea · 13/03/2013 13:46

Don't you know Sugarice? I thought it was obvious Smile.

Seriously, a friend of mine posted on here for ages and invented a couple of kids because she thought you had to have children to be a member. She just liked the pace and range of topics on AIBU and wanted to join in. She then started to feel a bit batty talking about DD and DS when they didn't exist and quietly departed.

MoreBeta has a face like porridge dripping down a wall so don't believe her Wink

CuriousMama · 13/03/2013 13:47

nurserytea why didn't your friend just NC? Confused

UtterflyButterfly · 13/03/2013 13:49

I don't have DCs living at home anymore, so I'm just living vicariously through you lot (real or fantasy) until my DD deigns to provide me with a GD, which she says won't be for at least another 5 years. I'm not inventing any more though, the real ones were enough trouble!

nurserytea · 13/03/2013 13:52

Maybe Mumsnet doesn't exist. Maybe none of it is real and its just a figment of your imagination. (Yes, your's. There's no one else here. You've made it all up).

OP posts:
WhereYouLeftIt · 13/03/2013 14:34

"Who on earth gets these 'DC' out to school"
Me. You will note I never post between 0800 and 0840.

"and feeds them"
Me. Eventually.

"and clears up after them"
Nobody. He's 14.

"and supervises their homework"
Nobody. He's 14.

"and cooks their dinner?"
Me. But I'm working on him cooking my dinner.

"Do some of you have full time maids and nannies who do all that stuff while you lounge around eating chocolates and aibu-ing?"
No maid, no nanny; just a house in desperate need of a good clean and an empty biscuit tin. Grin

BarnYardCow · 13/03/2013 14:40

Mine are free range, and only come in and bother me for a fruit shoot or some pom bears!

willesden · 13/03/2013 14:40

OP, are you making particular reference to WorraLiberty ?

YANBU. I have had the exact same thought.

JackieTheFart · 13/03/2013 14:42

I post from work Grin but I have three DC.

AnyFucker · 13/03/2013 14:43

Is this another "slag an individual poster off" thread ?

ThreeBeeOneGee · 13/03/2013 14:45

I only get little windows of opportunity to post on here, for example:

-when I'm pretending to listen to them reading but actually have my phone hidden inside the reading record

-when I'm pretending to listen to music practice but actually have my phone hidden inside the practice record

-when I'm pretending to admire some Minecraft creation but am actually blatantly typing on my phone

Etc.

MoreBeta · 13/03/2013 14:45

CuriousMama - MoreBeta has a face like porridge dripping down a wall so don't believe her. Shock

I'll have you know my stubble is really quite real!

My dcs are both at school, but when everyone is in, I just sit here on the sofa drinking tea and handing out my orders Grin

Wait, I'm suppose to pay attention to my son? Really? I thought he was for watching TV all day and then helping set the table at dinner time?!?!

Oh wait...he's at daycare. I was working but I'm about to go pick him up.
