because I'm apparently mean because I make my ds (11 in April) go to bed at nine and everyone else in his class goes at 10pm (yeah right!).

I usually have to wake him up the next morning still though.

freddiefrog · 26/02/2013 20:07

My 11 year old is in bed at 8:30 and reads until 9ish.

MissyMooandherBeaverofSteel · 26/02/2013 20:08

Goes to bed at 8, but he is allowed to read for an hour, lights out at 9.

MissAnnersley · 26/02/2013 20:08

DS is 10, almost 11. On week nights he goes to bed at about 8.30pm, although he does push it until about 9 some nights.

OutInAllWeathers · 26/02/2013 20:08

I must be really mean then as its 8pm on a school night here with a few minutes reading in bed!

lowercase · 26/02/2013 20:08

SkinnybitchWannabe · 26/02/2013 20:08

My 10 year old goes to bed at 7.30pm. 13 year old 9 30pm.

BallyGoBackwards · 26/02/2013 20:09

I try and have my DS in bed for 9 too.

littlewhitebag · 26/02/2013 20:09

I would say between 8 and 9 - no later. My DD2 is 15 and goes to bed by 9 on week nights.

noyouhavehadawee · 26/02/2013 20:09

Depends on when they have to be up- my son only has to be up for 8am, some of his classmates are up for 6am- two hour difference.

My 11 year old's bedtime is 9pm although he tries to stretch it to 9.30

Budgiegirlbob · 26/02/2013 20:13

My 12 year old goes at 9.30 and reads until 10, but doesn't get to sleep until about 11. He's up at 7, but catches up at the weekends. We did try sending him to bed earlier, but he still just lies there until 11 !
My 10 year old goes to bed at 9, reads until 9.30, then is asleep within seconds. He's always up at 7, even at weekends and holidays .

Hulababy · 26/02/2013 20:13

DD is 10y (Y6 and will be 11y in April)

Her bedtime, on a school night, is between 8pm and 9pm. It is lights out at 9pm. She usually goes up earlier to read.

Domjolly · 26/02/2013 20:15

Its not about what time they go to bed its weather they can wake up in the moring and are full of pep at school also weather they are moody if they stay up

I know lots of children that go to be much later but they are moody, surley and a nighmare in the morning

My ds 13 gose up at 7:30 i never had to wake him up yet for school and dosent require a alarm hes full of pep during the day we allowed him to stay up a few times in the summer till 10 he was a night mare bursting into tears sassing us (which is not like him at all) and worst of all looked dreadful

Personally unless there goung to sit up in there room there is nothing on tv for a 11 year old past 9 also if he can get up for school with no issues and dose not require a row to go to bed i would leave it i am sure there will be parents who let there kids up until 11 or 12 they must be the parents that the teachers always complain about in the news letters the children up all night watching telly or on x box like zombies or very snappy at school

remeber
how much sleep your child gets effects 30 other children and the hard working teacher

LaurieFairyCake · 26/02/2013 20:16

Lights out at 8 when she was 10/11.

Now she's 14 it's still lights out at 9.30 - really don't believe your DS is telling you kids in his class are up til 10 Wink for a start there's no suitable tv for children that young.

MaryBS · 26/02/2013 20:16

8pm!!! Unless he has Scouts, when its more like 9pm. My 13yo goes to bed by 8:30!

Domjolly · 26/02/2013 20:18

Also i am very sad to say this dont flam me but the kids in my sons class who go to be when they want or very late are normally the usuall suspects that get in to trouble or havent done there home work or are late

muddyin2013 · 26/02/2013 20:20

DD just 11 goes to bed at 8.30 to read for half hour then lights out at 9pm.

DD also thinks she goes to bed earlier than her friends. I know all of DDs friends mums and their DC go to bed the same time.Wink

DD gets up at 6.50am and DD leaves for school bus at 7.55am.

WorraLiberty · 26/02/2013 20:22

10yr old goes at 9pm (gets up at 8am)

13yr old goes at 9.30pm (gets up at 7.45am)
