Especially when most working people couldn't never afford to live somewhere costing that much?

Ive just read the article, what on earth makes people think they are entitled to a bigger house if they have that many children, if you own you're own home you dont have 11 kids in a 2 bedroom house because you know you cant fit them all in there. Its people like that that are ruining this country!

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 22:53

Not people like this then midastouch Hmm

blubberguts · 19/02/2013 22:53

Hang 'em, flog 'em

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 22:54

Midastouch - are you seriously saying you have read the article and the whole thread, and you still can't see this is about the welfare of the children?

I quite sure if the DM reported my story they could manage to get people frothing. You don't know anything more about me than you do about this woman, how can you possibly make the judgement that she's a scrounger but I'm not?

vivien you're aware of how the tax credits system works yes? Incase you aren't - people earn a wage and it's topped up to there've"the government has deemed a living wage. Benefits are not higher than this. A quick google will confirm the specifics for you.

(Thank you gaelic and nc, I know you're right, moment of self-pity over)

aufaniae · 19/02/2013 22:59

Um, she has not been "given" a house. Is her name on the deeds? No.

She is a tenant in a council house.

larks35 · 19/02/2013 22:59

Gosh, read the first page and the last couple, haven't read the article as I can guess what it said but really, oh my fucking god some of you are the most ungenerous, unkind, inhumane snobs gosh! The Daily Misery really does bring the worst out of people!

midastouch · 19/02/2013 22:59

I havent read the whole thread there are 900+ messages! As for the welfare of the children shouldnt that be the mothers responsibillity. And to be honest with you she cannot possible have enough time to give each of those children the attention they need. If they had capped benefits for 2 or 3 children she would never have had 11 kids!

Oh, of all the webstes in all the world, The Twattish ones seem to graviate to MumsNet.

5madthings · 19/02/2013 23:00

God and I thought this thread couldn't get any worse, arff at the idea that your vaginsa gets bigger with each child you have..it really doesn't work like that, even if you have huge babies like my 10lb 13oz ds4, oddly enough it was still bloody hard work giving birth to no 5 who was a teeny 8lb and believe me I felt the stretching but its well fine now.

I agree that physio might help anyone having any issues, they do recommend you do your pelvic floor exercises for a reason.

I do wonder who advised this woman to be in the daily fail, wonder how much they paid her :( she is a product of the society she was raised in, these situations don't occur in a bubble.

NcNcNcNc · 19/02/2013 23:00

Custardo - what do you mean deletion slag? Confused

WifeofPie · 19/02/2013 23:00

Yuk. This is benefits abuse. Nothing wrong with bashing that. I don't live in the UK anymore but it seems like the benefits systems supports this irresponsible 'teen mom' culture.

Auntmaud · 19/02/2013 23:00

Unlike you I have an understanding of the history of adoption plus personal experience. Class is a huge issue in adoption. Just in case you are interested.

How on earth do you know what understanding or experience of adoption I have?

Wow, thanks for the link Custardo. I wish I could write that well. Thank you The Guardian!

Some sanity at last, it's just a shame it goes so far over the heads of so many (including those in power).
