Especially when most working people couldn't never afford to live somewhere costing that much?

Boney - I get that, a 17 year old getting a 15 year old pregnant then yes perhaps legal discretion would be used, but this man was 9 years older.

To me that's fairly clear its legally, ethically and morally wrong.

Unless you're one of the judges who think young girls are 'asking for it', 'acting like a Lolita' etc Hmm

Sorry, just totally disagree with you on this one. I can't understand how it can be anything but abuse when one is 14 and the other 23.

Happy to agree to disagree though.

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 22:38

Viviennemary - you are right, but the point should be expanded to say that no job would ever pay the amount this woman would require to support her 11 children and pay her share of the childcare (as the State does not pay 100%). I seriously doubt she is living the life of riley on benefits.

NcNcNcNc · 19/02/2013 22:39

Jake - did you report to SS if the 3 year old was clearly being neglected?

BlackMaryJanes · 19/02/2013 22:39

How would you know? You only have two.

Are you referring to my foof? Oh I know.

Hold the front page ! the horse has just been interviewed on tv and says " to all you neighsayers (sorry) when you need your smug paid for with you own tax contributions in the old folks home where you are undoubtably bound forbum wiped, your drool wiped, your mashed banana dinner fed via a straw, and just maybe your adult nappy changed because you have soiled yourself again , a young person will no doubt be doing all the aforementioned ,and where do young people come from?"tax.

midastouch · 19/02/2013 22:42

wow, thats how u get a big house, only 9 more children to go.... Hmm in all seriousness though, its rediculous, i have no other word for it. I know everyone should be entitled to have children and if you're paying for them by working then fine have as many as you like. I do think though that after 2 children they shouldnt give you tax credits or child benefit imho

Viviennemary · 19/02/2013 22:42

I'd forgotten about the childcare element. Under the new rules, if she has to get a job goodness knows how much she would qualify for in childcare. Maybe they should have built her own private eco nursery annexe!!

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 22:43

I suspect her motive is to keep herself and her children alive. Selfish eh?

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 22:44

Or perhaps they should just leave well alone.

What is her motive in having so many kids? That was my Q. You seem to be keen on speaking for her, so I await your response.

Auntmaud · 19/02/2013 22:47

Mrs de vere

"Unless you're one of the judges who think young girls are 'asking for it', 'acting like a Lolita' etc"

Definately not one of them, but I do know quite a few families that were started pre 16 with age gaps is between 2 - 14 yrs and they are not abusive.

I take each "case" on its own merits, in this one we just don't know enough.

Have to agree to disagree :)

Who the f*ck cares. And thanks for saying I am speaking for her, I like to think I try to stick up for those less fortunate than me.

This thread should be drawing to a close any minute now but don't worry there's a fat thread running elsewhere.
