Especially when most working people couldn't never afford to live somewhere costing that much?

Well the cycle certainly doesn't get broken by throwing cash and houses at them, all evidence points to that. And why should it? What incentive is there for her offspring to work?

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 21:30

She has been given the support? Or her children?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 19/02/2013 21:30

Yes..don't give her healthcare or medicine if she or her kids are ill Hmm

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 19/02/2013 21:31

I am intrigued on how this cycle can be broken. The children are exposed to a selfish entitled attitude in their mother. Who teaches them differently? Teachers, the media, who? Who influences them and how? People keep throwing out this 'support' she's entitled to but I want to know what it is and who's going to give it?

Isityouorme · 19/02/2013 21:34

She is selfish, entitled and greedy. She has 2 grandchildren already. The cycle of stupidity continues. I hope her other children look at her in pity and raise their standards by being sensible, getting an education, and contributing towards society.

JakeBullet · 19/02/2013 21:34

Thing is Maisie there will always be families like this....they are rare but they are out there. They don't all get two properties knocked into one either...she is unusual.

Work needs to be done much earlier.....after the first child or preferably before pregnancy takes place to show this is not am attractive option. It's NOT an attractive option either, who would want her life?

JakeBullet · 19/02/2013 21:36

HoHo, preventative support work is patchy across the country sadly.

Auntmaud · 19/02/2013 21:36

Which is exactly what the Govt are doing by proposing a benefits cap, Jake! Had she been told no more benefits, no bigger house after the first three who knows, she might have exercised some control over her ovaries!

scottishmummy · 19/02/2013 21:37

There's a statutory responsibility to house the family, they need to be together they are large family needing accommodation, what do you suggest?separate family?
I hope her children have good mental, physical health and a liberal state cares for dependent children

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 19/02/2013 21:37

What does preventative support work in a case like this entail?

Isityouorme · 19/02/2013 21:39

They had a house(s) and there are people out there living in far worse conditions who have genuine needs such as disabilities. Why shoud she have this big house built for her when there are disabled families living in flats? They should get the house.

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 21:40

AuntMaud, HoHo and many others - if the benefits cap is indeed going to be the answer to all these problems (I doubt it), may I suggest that you save your energy for the families where appropriate and early support may help prevent this situation, rather than being jealous of those for whom it is too late.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 19/02/2013 21:40

It's just so cringy to read people preaching away about her "having control over her ovaries" from their more fortunate ivory towers

NcNcNcNc · 19/02/2013 21:42

'might have exercised some control over her ovaries' Hmm

You're grim. Really grim.

gaelicsheep · 19/02/2013 21:42

Itityouorme - gosh yes, you're right. They could house three disabled families in that house. That's what you meant right? That would make it three 2 bedroom houses, which I would like to bet they are also building!

D0oinMeCleanin · 19/02/2013 21:42

Isityouorme, she is not getting a house built for her. the house was already being built. it has been adjusted to suit her current needs. once she is no longer in need, it can be changed back to two separate houses. at least read the full facts before admonishing this woman.

gordyslovesheep · 19/02/2013 21:42

I think she could make a fortune with those ovaries - since she seems to be able to reproduce with them alone ...not sperm needed

oh hang on I bet there where men involved - but they are less easy targets - we all know it's always the womans fault

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 19/02/2013 21:43

gaelic I don't know where you get the idea I am jealous of this woman.

You throw that word 'support' out again but are still unable to justify it and explain what the support entails.

Auntmaud · 19/02/2013 21:44

Why is that grim? I exercised control over mine like all the other women I know. Why couldn't she?

Is the opposite of a taxpayer funded free house an ivory tower, then? If so, yes, I'll take that.

gordyslovesheep · 19/02/2013 21:45

Facts seriously D0oin why bother with Facts when boob hoiking and pearl clutching and bandying about misogynistic comments and making snotty generalisations about poor people is much more fun

call the Fail - some of their 'journalists' have escaped

RedwingOnFire · 19/02/2013 21:45

Oh I see some people still have not managed to flip their caring about others switches to on.

So let's look at the US to see how well hardline attitudes to welfare work out, oh yes, extreme poverty, destitution AS WELL AS still being demonised as skivers. But as long as they're being punished and not treated like actual human beings & you have a few more pounds in your pocket it's fine isn't it?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 19/02/2013 21:46

An ivory tower of smugness

Auntmaud · 19/02/2013 21:46

gordy either you accept that as free and equal beings women here in the UK have full and absolute control over their own reproduction - or you don't. Which is it?

BoneyBackJefferson · 19/02/2013 21:46

NcNcNcNc
stop 23 year old men having sex with 14 year old girls might help.

That wouldn't stop the other 10 children.

gordyslovesheep · 19/02/2013 21:47

I don't accept that all women ARE free ...or treated equally ...or are allowed to control their own fertility always - no - sorry

here in the real world things are more complex
