"clutches pearls" IS NOT FUCKING FUNNY

sorry. really had to get that off my chest, seen it on way too many on threads today.

Please join me with your shouty rants if you like. I shall not be clutching pearls, hoiking bosoms or doing any other off camera faux amusing movements. I'm just sitting here...typing.

No one is allowed to be told about BESH unless they go in there. And unless you have need of going in, then you wouldn't want to anyway

Actually, it's Barren Evil Selfish Hags, those awful career 30-something career women so beloved of Liz Jones and her ilk, who have been so monstrously selfish as to wait until they're in their 30s before TTC and then encounter difficulties.

Wallace · 15/02/2013 15:40

4

Do we still use that one?

usualsuspect · 15/02/2013 15:40

Your teenagers are doing it wrong.

writes on fb like this

If someone uses creepy wee brackets on FB, I know they are a Mnetter.

usualsuspect · 15/02/2013 15:41

oops

like this

unintentional bold there

LadyBeagleEyes · 15/02/2013 15:41

None of those expressions annoy me.
It's just MN speak isn't it?
Utterly harmless and makes a point without being nasty.

atthewelles · 15/02/2013 15:42

Seriously Ariel? Posters on here use that expression? God, some people are vile.

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:42

oh Besh dont sound so bad?

what is 4 code for?

OP posts:
greenhill · 15/02/2013 15:43

"Marking my place", "marking my spot", "." It all gives me "the rage" too.

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:43

atthewelles i think they call themselves that...ironic thing

OP posts:
IneedAgoldenNickname · 15/02/2013 15:44

I'll tell all the teenagers I know that they are wrong then Grin

usualsuspect · 15/02/2013 15:45

Some expressions annoy me, but all forums have their own phrases etc.

It doesn't mean you want to be in with the in crowd.

BadgersRetreat · 15/02/2013 15:46

oooh i'm a BESH

who knew?

except i'm not TTC

and i fecking love creepy wee brackets, so nerr

DameMargotFountain · 15/02/2013 15:46

'makes me teeth itch' is sooooo descriptive though

and things like 'quiche' aren't exclusive to MN, i've been excluded from seen them on other sites too

usualsuspect · 15/02/2013 15:46

All the teenagers I know use this

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:47

No no. The BESH called themselves it. It's irony innit. And I can say that with perfect justification, because I am one myself.

atthewelles · 15/02/2013 15:49

Oh I see. I shall stop clutching my pearls then and change out of my judgey pants .

Wallace · 15/02/2013 15:50

I can't really remember, but think 4 was the same as a Biscuit.

MsNobodyAgain · 15/02/2013 15:52

Each to their own.

I clutched my pearls today. It was strangely comforting. Everyone should do it.

greenhill · 15/02/2013 15:53

I thought "4" is a way of referring to the above post, without drawing attention to yourself / quoting someone else / answering a question without saying it.

For instance, someone will ask:
what happened to such and such?

such and such, under a name change, says that that poster is still around but under a name change

next poster puts "4" as a marker to the above post to answer the question.

valiumredhead · 15/02/2013 15:57

I love a good bosom hoik Grin

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:58

I've never seen 4.

YouTheCat · 15/02/2013 16:00

I've seen 7. It was very graphic.

TheBigJessie · 15/02/2013 16:02

I've seen 12 Angry Men

GetOrf · 15/02/2013 16:04

Am I the only wanker who uses creepy wee brackets and strikethroughs in emails?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 16:05

I would love to be able to use strike through in everyday life but only can find it on MN.

It can be so wonderfully PA.
