"clutches pearls" IS NOT FUCKING FUNNY

sorry. really had to get that off my chest, seen it on way too many on threads today.

Please join me with your shouty rants if you like. I shall not be clutching pearls, hoiking bosoms or doing any other off camera faux amusing movements. I'm just sitting here...typing.

Bunfags · 15/02/2013 15:21

Ahh, thanks Mewling. I thought gavel was some new fangled internent abbreviation.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:22

This is the WORST and I won't have any other opinion on the subject:

"Such and such makes my teeth itch "

I want to kill the person who says it. AIBU?

porcamiseria · 15/02/2013 15:23

what cockyfox said

but I would never have dared post it!!!!!

also

gavel
greggs
quiche

lifes little annoyances

MewlingQuim · 15/02/2013 15:23

Is saying x posts bad too? Confused

CockyFox · 15/02/2013 15:24

You also do know its not unique to mumsnet , the judgy pants being pulled up etc are used all the time over on another pregnancy and parenting forum in the exact same context on their AIBU and What's your opinion board. Mumsnet doesn't have a monopoly on mothers thinking they ah oh so superior and witty.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:25

To be honest, I and all my FB friends who I have made through MN use creepy wee brackets on all our FB stuff thereby immediately outing us. And it's doubly silly of me to do it, because I demonstrably have no children. So that clearly means I'm TTC and announcing it to the world Grin

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:25

greggs??

OP posts:
MewlingQuim · 15/02/2013 15:25

I still don't get the abbreviations like BESH.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:25

Cockyfox of course we are superior and witty. Honestly, woman.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 15/02/2013 15:26

BESH is not on the abbreviations list. It's a club. A quiche, if you will.

atthewelles · 15/02/2013 15:29

Mumsnet Royalty will have you beheaded Cockyfox.

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:32

i havent heard of besh.

YouTheCat · 15/02/2013 15:32

I like quiche. With bacon and cheese in it and a nice side salad. Does this mean I can join some exclusive club for people who also like quiche? Hmm

DameMargotFountain · 15/02/2013 15:32

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:36

is the meant to represent what we're doing? cos mine would read

mmmmmm.

OP posts:
fluffyraggies · 15/02/2013 15:36

What is BESH, please?

coraltoes · 15/02/2013 15:37

usualsuspect. I fucking love you.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 15/02/2013 15:37

What's wrong with being weird anyway?

IneedAgoldenNickname · 15/02/2013 15:37

I have teenagers on fb who use creepy wee brackets, so,rather than outing me as a mner it makes me look hip and cool when I use them (I think)

TheBigJessie · 15/02/2013 15:38

Clarification: gavels are used by United Statian judges. And as we all know, Mners hate Americanisms*, so it's forbidden.
