I just love it. What I really want to know is where is cheery littlebottom? According to mn the name is taken but I've never seen it.
So far I have spotted
MrsTerryPratchett
NannyOgg
Greebo
IShallWearMidnight
TiffanyAching

And quite a few others I can't recall right now.
Who haven't I spotted / remembered and where is cheery?

When carrot pulls his sword on angua Shock

When I first read where's my cow to dd Grin

Do I count? I adapted, because in my head I'm totally Granny, but my daughter would disagree!

I'm reading the Discworld books to my DDs and have been for about a year now (they're 10 and 12). They are occasionally shocked at the language and odd sexual reference, but being Dutch I don't do coyness about sex and they don't seem to mind. And TP is lovely* to read out loud, his language just flows. I am very attached to my nn, but may want to change for a while in honour of TP and this thread - there must be pointiness involved, though. Bear with me.

Naming your dc after it is real commitment! Although Sam is a fairly staid name, some of the lancre ones would have lead to unreserved bullying though.

A scorpion pit for mimes good choice! I really like the bit with the patrician locked safely in his own dungeon training rats. Such a brilliant character. I was really offended by the bloke who does the patrician in going postal not shaving/ dyeing his beard though. Tp was not ambiguous in describing patrician he very clearly has a neat black goatee, so whatd with the ginger hair? I've seen him in something else with it dyed since too! Hmmph!

Stanley though, what a brilliant Stanley that bloke made!

Some of us never change our name...

I even went so far, when playing Travian, at naming every village I built after somewhere in Discworld.

That's a bit pooh. She hasn't posted in over 5 years?

They should have a bit in the t and c's that if you haven't posted in 3 years you will have to re-register.

If you're not sure about starting your kids on Discworld then obviously you should begin with the Bromeliad Trilogy. I've recently re-read them to DD. current book at bedtime is Johnny and the Dead (one day she may be allowed to read TP herself). The only trouble with the Johnny books is that they've dated (had to explain reference to Saddam Hussein and Kuwait).

Anyway, lovely to see all the shiny new names. Smile

Ill get a fright if she reappears now though. Dare I tell mnhq on her?

Searching for cheerylittlebottom comes up with nothing so how come we couldn't have that?
