I just love it. What I really want to know is where is cheery littlebottom? According to mn the name is taken but I've never seen it.
So far I have spotted
MrsTerryPratchett
NannyOgg
Greebo
IShallWearMidnight
TiffanyAching

And quite a few others I can't recall right now.
Who haven't I spotted / remembered and where is cheery?

How do you change your name?

I do realise I could just go and have a look but I am the most lazy person in the world. Grin

I've def seen an Angua around. When I first joined MN, it was either a TP or a Jasper Ffordde name, and all the ones I wanted were taken, but I'm very attached to CMOT.

So upset I couldnt be Cheery Littlebottom
but that would probably be inaccurate
and Bigbottom is not a traditional Dwarf name

I tried to become 'You' but it is taken. Sad

I shall have to have a think. I'm reading I shall wear midnight at the moment.

I'm reading I shall wear midnight too. I haven't ever had a name change and I feel one coming on, I've worn this one for far too long.

The 'manicbmc' was so friends from another parenting forum could see it was me talking rubbish.

Hi Carpejugulum yes I definitely remember seeing you before Grin
And you too dibbler Grin

Hi offler, I've not seen you before I would have remembered Grin

Smite, of course (palmface) I have seen you and never put 2+2 together

Dwarves Grin cheery was my first choice too. I love the gentle exploration of feminism that is portrayed through the dwarves, and cheery best for taking the first hobnailed steps down that road.

I shall wear midnight is beautiful. I love the natural way that sex is discussed, openly, frankly but never crudely as a normal part of life even though it is aimed at a young audience.
Myself and another tp reader were discussing wether there are any discworld books (ie the "adult") ones we would put an age barrier on our dcs reading.
Personally I think if your old enough to read and understand the text your old enough to deal with it Grin

Well, that's an improvement all round.

So would changing names mid thread be classed as sockpuppeting or does that imply trying to mislead or derail a thread?

I let my older boy read the books from about 11, started him on some of the earlier ones. He didn't really like them.

I love having a new name, how liberating, I feel like going and posting in style and beauty or somewhere else totally out of character.

There's a Discworld app being made. Terry Pratchett's Facebook page says so. I am very excited!

It takes a certain warped shape brain to enjoy but to some of us it is genius. Discworld
