To despair at EVER finding a bra that fits?!

So, I have read every website on the subject, been measured at Bravissimo, and STILL find every single bra uncomfortable - even the ones that Bravissimo said were the right size. I just want to rip the thing off as soon as I get in from work. They seem fine for about an hour, then start to dig in.

I find that they just 'curl up' at the back, and I get horrible back fat, or dig in at the side/arm pit, but mainly on just one side! The band never seems to sit flush to my side iyswim. I have tried going up a band and down a cup, down a band and up a cup etc, have tried every style going..........

I found when I wore my saggy old too big bras they gave me no shape or support, but my god they were comfy!

I think I am about a 36/38 E/F. I have ordered and sent back about ten bras this last month as they just all HURT.

So, AIBU to just let 'em all hang out and be pain-free??!!!!

Hmmm, are you doing regular scooping?

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 20:07

Megglevache that does actually sound more like scooping is needed. Sometimes you do get a little underneath at the front and there is a bit of a trade off there with the increased support, but the back fat all goes in the bra. You can also pull and scoop up at the front

(this thread is soooo glamorous isn't it...)

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:25

Oh shit. I've just measured myself. I'm 37 under bust and 43 over. Now bear in mind I have one boob bigger that the other what should I be wearing? I've been wearing 40a for years. This may explain the boob migration. They basically have thought 'fuck this, we're not staying where we're not wanted' and packed their bags. :(

coraltoes · 11/02/2013 20:28

38f I think mrs Koala. Blimey! Those poor As!! ;)

polosareverynice · 11/02/2013 20:31

I luffs you sf my boobs are in the most comfy 32f bra im soo happy (the debenhams sales lady tried to tell me different but im sooo comfy) Grin Wine Thanks

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:33

No way. My tits are TINY.

SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 20:37

Possibly a 36F or a 38E. Honest Grin. My sister and niece have tiny boobs (well, compared to me!) but wear a 28F and a 28DD respectively.

LindaMcCartneySausage · 11/02/2013 20:38

I'm a big Rigby & Peller fan. I'm normally a 32E (at least) but a 34H at the moment due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. Their bra fitting is superb, but the best ever bra fitting service and lingerie shop is called Events, if you are in the East Yorkshire/Lincolnshire area. I can highly recommend them and used to go to the Beverley shop when I was a student in York.

Their website is www.eventslingerie.co.uk.

SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 20:39

Polo Blush. Glad to hear that the shopping was a success. The fitters in Debenhams can be a bit hit and miss tbh.

SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 20:40

We are well sexy SC

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:41

Everyone in my family teases me about how flat chested I am. I mentioned to dh before pregnancy that according to some measurements I was a 36dd but he looked at me witheringly and said 'I've seen dd's and you are not a dd' in a smug way and went off chuckling to himself, virtually high fiving and chest bumping himself in the mirror - twat!

I just can't be. Why are 38bs baggy then?

soaccidentprone · 11/02/2013 20:44

I think a 36f would be better Mrs k.

bearing mind you are a little lopsided you need to fit a bra to your larger boob, maybe find a bra with removable padding and take it out of the larger side.

not all boobs sit 'pert' on the front, and if the breast tissue is more distributed across the front and a little under the arm, then to you they may not look big, but if you scoop then it should all fit.

I went from thinking I was a 38d to being a 36ff, and I don't think my boobs look huge.

but generally you look at your boobs from above so they will be of a different perspective to other people.

SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 20:45

They're baggy because the back is probably too big and also possibly the wrong style.

Once you start scooping you will find that your size and shape will change and you will need bigger cups.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 20:48

Scooping alone can make you "grow" a good couple of cup sizes Mrs k

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:50

I feel like I did when I did a pregnancy test. Speechless. I keep re measuring myself. I just can't believe it.

Any recommendations on style or makes for wide boobs?

soaccidentprone · 11/02/2013 20:51

and your dh is insensitive. would he be happy if you commented on the size of his penis (negatively I meanGrin )

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:51

I've only scooped for 2 days! I feel sad for my boobs now! Poor thrupennies!

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 20:53

He likes small boobs btw. But I tried telling him dd's on a 5ft woman would be different than on a 5ft 10in lass.

soaccidentprone · 11/02/2013 21:00

exactly, and a 30dd cup is far smaller than a 36dd

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 21:06

This isn't some kind of elaborate mn joke is it? I mean really? I don't believe it. I've been wearing the totally wrong (not even a bit wrong but abso fucking lutely w.r.o.n.g). How could I have it so wrong? Shock Shock Shock

SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 21:08

You're not the first and definitely won't be the last that's my DM

At least you know now Grin and once you've bought your new 36F you can stick the label right under your DH's nose and say nah, nah, nah!!

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:19

SF is right you definitely are neither the first nor last.

What I meant re gaining cups by scooping - if I put on a bra and don't scoop, it looks too big in the cup (and too small in the back.) Scooping changes my "size" quite significantly. The number of times I have tried a bra on, thought it looks ok, scooped, and suddenly acquired massive quad boob out the front :)

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 21:22

I'm quite angry with my mum now. She absolutely would never have it that I could be any bigger than a b because she's a c and she's got great boobs and I don't apparently.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:25

(whispers)...she probably isn't a c....

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 21:26

MrsK, the members of your family sound rather unkind

donm't listen to them listen to us

this "scooping" thing...not everybody needs to do this, do they ? Should I be scooping myself up to a DD from a D ? Grin
