To despair at EVER finding a bra that fits?!

So, I have read every website on the subject, been measured at Bravissimo, and STILL find every single bra uncomfortable - even the ones that Bravissimo said were the right size. I just want to rip the thing off as soon as I get in from work. They seem fine for about an hour, then start to dig in.

I find that they just 'curl up' at the back, and I get horrible back fat, or dig in at the side/arm pit, but mainly on just one side! The band never seems to sit flush to my side iyswim. I have tried going up a band and down a cup, down a band and up a cup etc, have tried every style going..........

I found when I wore my saggy old too big bras they gave me no shape or support, but my god they were comfy!

I think I am about a 36/38 E/F. I have ordered and sent back about ten bras this last month as they just all HURT.

So, AIBU to just let 'em all hang out and be pain-free??!!!!

ok so I need help too

was 32D prior to two kids

measured as 32F in bravissmo just as I stopped breast feeding but I reckon I dropped to 32E a couple of months after that (a couple of years ago now and have probably gained a wee bit of weight since)

but the 32 always feels slightly too tight and my back fat bulges a bit so doesn't look nice with a fitted top so I decided to try 34DD but don't think that's right either.

I measured myself last night and seem to be 33.5 underband (maybe 33) and 40-41 over boobs.

My boobs don't sag but are not very full on the top/towards the middle so some bras don't fit. I also have a short length to my shoulders so it's really hard to get the straps short enough (every fitter has struggled) unless the whole length of the strap adjusts if that makes sense???

any suggestions you wonderful experts?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/02/2013 21:32

MrsK :(

As a starting point, I would head into Bravissimo with your new measurements and see what they can find for you. At least then you can try a few things on and get an idea .

AF - depends how much back fat you have. Mine all goes into my bra now and I gain 2 cups. I so wish I had known this when I was 16, my self-esteem would have been so amazingly different.

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 21:35

I don't have much back fat, nor the underarm migration stuff (am a bit of a skinny)

all my boob migration has been downwards Sad Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/02/2013 21:35

Beanie - you sound a similar shape to me, although slimmer. Try a 32F in a balcony style and scoop all your back and armpit fat into the cup - you may find that you go up to an FF.

I am short, and I've just bought 2 Cleo and a Bravissimo own brand one called Paradiso both of which fit really well in terms of strap length, so my bra is sitting high on my chest rather than dragging my boobs down.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:36

AF it depends, not everybody has much to scoop but it is always worth trying :)

BeanieBabe, I would say a 34E as a starting point if the 32 feels too tight, but it could also be that you need more cup space in a 32 and some scooping.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/02/2013 21:36

I am Envy at the lack of armpit fat, that really is a PITA in terms of summer clothes.
I would try a little scoop anyway, just for research Grin

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 21:38

ok, I'll have a go Smile

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub · 11/02/2013 21:39

Beanie have you got the 32 on the loosest setting?

MrsKoala · 11/02/2013 21:42

Right I'm off to bravissimo tomorrow. I am worried they will laugh me out of the shop tho. If this works ladies I will finally have a bra which fits for he 1st time in 22 years. If it does work I will donate £50 to breast cancer awareness in your honour.

BeanieBabe · 11/02/2013 21:42

ta Ali and SC

I do scoop but maybe not enough although I don't think my central back fat will scoop round lol!!! Although I don't think my back is hugely fat - it just looks it with the 32

might go back to bravissimo after half-term as haven't seen the Paradiso range

x-posts

yes TheDoctrine - 32 is always on the loosest clip. Wear the 34 on the middle clips but could go tighter but then cup doesn't sit right

JeffFaFa · 11/02/2013 21:45

Im going to order a 30 DD as advised and see how i get on with it, what is this scooping thing? to save me reading back lots of pages?

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:48

hotair, a 36K would be roughly the same cup volume, a KK roughly up one cup. I would maybe try a K, KK and L to see.

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 21:49

report back, MrsK

hotair, not ignoring you, just don't know what to suggest...do many places make bras with cups that big ? < serious question >

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:52

Sadly not AnyFucker. Although it's a lot better than it used to be there is a huge tail off at G cup and again at H and JJ. Bravissimo all the way for bigger sizes, at least for trying them on.

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 21:55

what a bloody pain Angry

Ok, I've lost lots of weight, my boobs are like spaniel ears, under boob, 33, biggest measurement 37.5. I'm in 36C, they are too loose around my back. Help...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/02/2013 21:58

Ellen - 32D as as starting point, also try 32E, maybe 34D in some brands.

hotair - good luck in finding something :)

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 21:59

EllenJane, start by trying a 32d, 32dd and a 34c and D. Most people tend to find the lower back size better

AnyFucker · 11/02/2013 22:00

EJ...you need a 32DD

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 11/02/2013 22:00

Thank you! Thanks Wow, 32! I was in 40D a couple of years ago.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 11/02/2013 22:14

My really comfortable Sloggi bras only seem to go up to a D cup. Sad Can anyone recommend a simple t shirt bra in 32 DD, no itchy lace pretty please. Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/02/2013 22:23

Freya deco Ellen
