To ask how long you were with DH/DP before they proposed?

I've had a couple of friends who've done it very quickly recently! Good for them
Just wondering what's average? Guess it depends on age.....

2 months but didnt get married until our 5th anniversary of our first date!
We had 3 kids before we got married and have now been together 8 years (married 3) and couldnt be happier

Men are not commitment phobic, unless they are just not that into you!

He asked me to marry him about 2 weeks after we started going out, we'd known each other for several years before.

Kept it to ourselves until after my brother had married the following year as they had been planning for a while and didn't want to take the shine away from them.

Got him to ask my dad's permission as he'd not proposed properly and didn't have a ring in the November, married by the following September.

So we'd been a couple less than 3 years by the time we got married. And this from the guy who said he'd never get re married or have more kids! (sadly the more kids in null and void as we can't have them)

11 years but he never actually proposed. Just came home from work one day and mentioned he'd booked us in for a show-round at a local wedding venue and did I fancy it

9 months, and married at 18months

Met Jan 1996.
Engaged Oct 1998.
Married July 1999.

about 4 weeks - we kept it quiet for another month as did not want to shock everyone
married 7 months later, been married 17 years now

Met DH in March engaged in June and married in September all the same year. DD was born 4 years and 5 days later so this year will be 44 years and DD will be 40 in September have a DS as well he will be 37 on Saturday. We are still happy together DH has been retired for 8 years now.

Everyone is different, one of my friends met her now DH on the 12th of Aug on holiday and married him on the 6th of September! (9yrs ago!)

3.5 years.
We met in the July.
I was pregnant by the next May.
We moved in together in the December (when I was 35 weeks pregnant).
DC1 born in February.
Pregnant again by January.
DC2 born in October.
He proposed in December.
We married 6 months later.
So, just under 4 years from our rather unpromising first date to wedding day.
