The ballpit one is scientifically annoying...the idea of anyone trying to model graphene with balls is a bit weird....or for that matter building the silicon analogue of DNA physically rather than in silico I saw recently - I mean, surely they've got molecular modelling software? But, all worth it for the 'bazinga' and mommy's ID lines of course.

I'm planning on ordering it, just haven't got round to it yet! I think I read somewhere that she had her toddler in a highchair watching at the homebirth of her second. Interesting idea but there's no way that'll be happening at our homebirth #2 in June! Apart from that, I think she's someone I'd get on very well with so I'm intrigued to read her book! Will start a book-reviewing thread about it if I ever get round to reading it!

We had a physics teacher called Mr Roberts who had the same speech impediment. I blush to recall it now but on our first day in his class a boy in all innocence said 'Yes Mr Woberts' to him - he was furious and shouted at him

Oh poor Mr Roberts, although I think you've got to have a sense of humour about these things sometimes. I had a boss with the same speech impediment and on a night out once he asked me to go to the bar for him, I asked why and he replied, laughing "I want a Rolling Rock, but I'm not going to order that for myself am I?"

Agree about the physics in the ballpit, shame because generally the science is really good in TBBT, DH (PhD in astrophysics) is always laughing at stuff I don't get (although I understand what Bernadette does).

Sheldon was in the middle of a breakdown, that's kind of the point of the ball pit episode. I think you have to let them off, Sheldon was clearly very confused and overwrought!
