to wish Leonard and Penny don't end up together?

I love BBT. I don't love Penny and Leonard.

Penny is very much like her character in 'rules to dating my daughter' that she used to be in I think where she played Bridget.

you know what, I really cannot stand Penny

The best female character they had IMO was that workmate of Leonard's played by the middle daughter from Roseanne. (you can see I am a real hardcore fan here).

I'm kind of unconvinced by Amy. It does feel a bit like they felt like they ought to give Sheldon a girlfriend because that is what guys have. But the thing is, its so very obvious that Sheldon is really not the kind of man who has a girlfriend. I kind of feel they should have been cool with that. The whole thing is very unconvincing

I love BBT and Amy is at the top of my celebrity crush list. If the Leonard/Penny thing resolves itself then that means the show has jumped the shark!

And to answer the OP Blush, the Leonard/Penny thing is getting tedious now, although I remember from an old episode where Penny was pissed off that she couldnt date jocks anymore as she couldnt tolerate stupid men after dating Leonard. She has been doing a college course, so perhaps she is finally growing up a bit. I think that there will be another Ross/Rachel break up before they finally get back together for the happily ever after.

Amy actually started out as a researcher for the show as she has PHD's r suchlike.
She really is clever!

Sheldon is almost 40 years old in real life!

no they are great together , although I do love sheldon and pennys scenes they are so funny and very endearing, saw the one when she gives him the leonard nimmoy napkin and cried when he hugged her, another favourtie is when she takes him to disney land it is fab , but why dont you like penny and leonard /

Lesley walters not in it enough for my liking she is great. I am loving bernadette this series she is hysterical , AFF not so much Hmm

Taking Sheldon to Disney was brilliant, the classic "access weekend" thing! The same when they were breaking up and promised to buy him a toy from the comic shop!

I actually like the fact that Sheldon has Amy.

I went to Uni which had mainly engineering/aviation based subjects, and had 1 female for every 12 males.

I met a lot of characters that fit with the personalities of the 4 lead guys. You used to wonder if they would ever meet anyone and settle down, especially the Sheldon types. Chat up lines were tragic, they had never really paid attention to girls in school, or found it really difficult to pluck up the courage to do so.

However most, if not all, in my year did form relationships and it was interesting to observe the definition of relationship for different people, and the rules and expression of attraction for different people.

Not everyone wants or has a typical text book romance and love comes in many different forms.

Meeting up at reunions years later it is great to be introduced to wives and partners, who could look beyond the abundance of polyester Christmas jumpers and see the amazing personalities beneath.

I ended up with the Howard type character!
