Friend of mine just lined up about twelve very pricey items her dh bought for her. And uploaded a pic onto Facebook, with the caption 'thank you my darling hubs'.' Seriously, why would you do that? I got lots of lovely things, but won't be uploading photos of them onto social media. Am I being a Scrooge?

No you are not - you are just not a bragging exhibitionist. She's not thanking her DH, she is showing off.

I hate this.

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 18:41

YANBU. It's just to show off. DS1 is 13 and all his friends have done it. Sad With a 'Thanks to my fabulous Mum and Dad' type messages.

BillyBollyBrandy · 25/12/2012 18:41

Yuck - it's the same people who continually declare undying love. False and 'orrible

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 18:42

I hope the burglars aren't on FB. Wink

Celticlassie · 25/12/2012 18:43

Silly cow. With these people, there's normally something missing somewhere else...

Oo nice pressie usual!

HollaAtMeSanta · 25/12/2012 18:49

I would be inclined to comment "is that all?"

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 18:49

We could upload our piles to our MN profiles.

Flossiechops · 25/12/2012 18:53

Completely agree, what I don't understand about these sort of posts is why they don't just turn to their husbands sat next to them on the sofa and say thanks! The one and only reason is to brag. My cousin does it all the time, last year it was "thanks to my darling dh for my gorgeous Louis Vuitton bag" yes and why don't you just fuck off love?!

NervousReindeer · 25/12/2012 18:53

I never understand why people put stuff like that on Facebook, who cares what you got just enjoy it without trying to brag

BornInACrossFireHurricane · 25/12/2012 18:55

Some people just love to brag and facebook is the perfect outlet

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 25/12/2012 18:55

Arf usual did it make you special?

slatternlymother · 25/12/2012 18:56

Ugh, bore off. Hate that kind of stuff. Like a previous poster said; obviously missing something else...

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2012 18:58

It's horrible when children do it. It has been known for the parents to add something vomit inducing back. Just speak to your DC-in private? Angry

Piemother · 25/12/2012 18:58

Yanbu in any way. I have a friend who likes to list brands. 'I lurve my new Barbour coat!!'
I don't get the one million photos of Xmas bloody everything. Why not post a pic of your post Xmas poo!
But that's just me

cocoachannel · 25/12/2012 18:58

DH bought me a beautiful pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. I rather feel like bragging about how thoughtful and generous he is!

InNeedOfBrandyButter · 25/12/2012 19:01

I have a hot water bottle to Grin a giraffe one. I also have bed socks gloves leggings rights earings and a throw and chocolates. Very very happy!

lol usualsuspect we all know how much you love facebook.

cozietoesie · 25/12/2012 19:01

Now that is a very fair comment Sparklingbrook. Considering that burglars will just be making up their seasonal 'to do' lists, such showing off is really not a recommended idea.

JugsMcGee · 25/12/2012 19:01

Oooh maybe I should post a photo of my new slow cooker? Everyone is bound to be green with envy! Grin
