i can tell you why that was, though, nickleback. what if things had gone wrong? is that really a reminder you'd want bouncing around everyone's inboxes? and then when things finally went right, there were funnier, more rounduppy things happening by then.
like i say, what a lot of people think makes a good roundup thread (ie the very few, much appreciated PMs i get sent) are not suitable for a bunch of reasons. doesn't mean i'm not grateful for the heads-up, but i have to be sensitive to the actual individuals who are on the threads and look for broad, easy, punchy, snarky humour.
tbh, i'm proud of the fact that i've (to my knowledge) never hurt anyone's feelings with what is sent out. i'd far rather have you be miffed at not being included - although if you'd actually read the thing, you'd see you're wrong and you're all on there - than really shake someone up by pointing thousands of women at a thread that they are feeling vulnerable on. and on a site as varied as this, it's hard to find threads where one of you isn't being shitty to someone - i want no part in publicising that to a broader audience.
but, ya know, apart from that, i LOVE writing the roundup, love reading the threads on MN, and evidently even take a masochistic pleasure in these regular beatings from y'all.
