if it was 'worst christmases', some people were really funny on there but iirc there were a few people who just had a fucking awful time of it, which kind of rules it out as a roundup thread as the last thing you'd want is a PM from someone saying 'i spilled my guts out there and you thought it was cool to just put it onto your jokey email?!' (even if you've not actually quoted them)

it's why we steer clear of relationships threads as well, as i'm sure you can imagine, despite a lot of very funny, sarcastic stuff going on there. i wish writing the roundup were as simple as 'see funny line, repeat it' but it's not. there are quite a few things to be sensitive to, tbh.

I think I must have had that monster turkey one year as well. I put my back out really badly trying to move it from the hot Aga oven to the cooler one. It weighed an absolute ton.

Another year DH wrecked a really expensive pair of suede Oliver Sweeney loafers by trying take the turkey out and almost dropping it, and slopping the grease and juices all over his feet.
