To not know how to deal with this disgusting habbit.

Ok first up I have had to name change here because I really don't want to out myself.

I have been married to my DH for nearly 10 years and we have 2 lovely children together. This morning he was working from home when I left to drop the kids off at school. I had planned to go to the shops afterwards but realised after leaving the house that I had left my purse at home.

I decided to go back again via the house to pick it up. I got out and went to go in the house and could see DH at the computer. I witnessed him picking his nose and not only this but afterwards he put his finger in his mouth to eat it. He then did it again to the other side. He didn't know I was looking at him doing this.

Now I realise that this sounds like something trivial, but I think in all honesty it's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen him do. I've told the kids off for doing this and DH even knows I find it the grossest thing ever. I grabbed my purse and just left again without speaking to him, and thankfully by the time I had got back he'd left to go to his office. I've been feeling so grossed out by what I saw earlier it's made me really upset. I just don't know how I'm going to react to him when he gets in later. Just thinking about it makes me sick!

AIBU to tell him what I saw and say that it's disgusting?

He has probably been doing this since he was a kid, you have just never seen it.. I cant really see what difference it would make if you said anything. Just forget you saw it.

Haha! Loads of people do this and to be fair he thought he was on his own. It is gross but I think you're overreacting slightly.

if everything else between you is ok, this should not be a problem, MOST people do all sorts of things like pick their nose or scratch their bum when they think they are on their own. And anyway, its good for your immunity you know! He thought he was in private, he did not do it to gross you out or embarrass you in public, nor infront of the DC

But if things were not so good between you, and he was annoying you in other ways, i can see why this would get right up your nose sorry snigger

Which is why he doesn't do it when you're around (or thinks you're not around). Do you mean to say that you have no little habits that others would find disgusting?

Heavens! Probably best I don't go into the detail of DP's atrocious foot picking habit then. Which he does when I'm out precisely because he knows that disgusting habits have to be private habits.

YANBU to find the nose picking particularly gross but cut him some slack. There are worse habits and at least he was in the privacy of his own home.

It's the image I just can't get out of my head. I definitely don't do anything like that at all, let alone in private. I use a hanky if I have to.

I think seeing him masturbating would have been far less gross. I understand masturbating is important for mental and physical well being. Nose picking isn't!

Never underestimate the satisfaction you can get from a thorough excavation of the nostrils, OP. Not that there's ever an excuse to eat the products of a mining expedition.

Meningitis does not live in noses. The bacteria and viruses that can cause meningitis do, which is yet another reason why we should wash our hands regularly and particularly after picking blowing one's nose.

Scoffing bogies is grim OP, but your husband thought he was alone. YANBU I suppose but I don't think I'd have quite your reaction. Just try to forget it I guess Confused

Do you honestly never scratch your arse or squeeze a spot, alone and in the comfort of your own home though?

I remember seeing a kids do this in the school playground 36 years ago and I still feel sick when I think about it now lol. It's a shame you saw it really. Lol I don't know what to say, things like that suck in my mind.
