Ok first up I have had to name change here because I really don't want to out myself.

I have been married to my DH for nearly 10 years and we have 2 lovely children together. This morning he was working from home when I left to drop the kids off at school. I had planned to go to the shops afterwards but realised after leaving the house that I had left my purse at home.

I decided to go back again via the house to pick it up. I got out and went to go in the house and could see DH at the computer. I witnessed him picking his nose and not only this but afterwards he put his finger in his mouth to eat it. He then did it again to the other side. He didn't know I was looking at him doing this.

Now I realise that this sounds like something trivial, but I think in all honesty it's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen him do. I've told the kids off for doing this and DH even knows I find it the grossest thing ever. I grabbed my purse and just left again without speaking to him, and thankfully by the time I had got back he'd left to go to his office. I've been feeling so grossed out by what I saw earlier it's made me really upset. I just don't know how I'm going to react to him when he gets in later. Just thinking about it makes me sick!

AIBU to tell him what I saw and say that it's disgusting?

Get a grip! If that's the worst thing your dh does you're a very lucky lady. Give him a break and have a word with yourself.

It IS gross, but also commonplace. There is no shame in telling him that you think it's gross, but it's hardly the end of the world!

picnicbasketcase · 20/12/2012 07:43

It's really not that earth shattering, is it? Yes, it's grimsters but not worth starting ww3 over. Very very common habit, like nail biting.

ReindeerOutdoors · 20/12/2012 07:44

It's not the picking it's the eating! Gross! What if someone ate their own scab?

I don't know why I'm reading this thread. Morning sickness has started and the thought of this is turning my stomach!

ReindeerOutdoors · 20/12/2012 07:45

Is it really that common? Who would eat their own nose insides? Would anyone here confess to doing that?

valiumredhead · 20/12/2012 07:47

It's not the picking I would object to, it's the EATING it!

In one of Bill Bryson's books, he refers to someone treating their nose like 'a mid-face snack dispenser'. Sorry to morning sickness sufferers.
