If you say housewife three times while staring into a mirror in a dark room she appears behind you and stabs you to death with her 100k paycheck.

Not a troll though.

Xenia is divorced and paid him a large settlement.

Mintyy · 07/11/2012 21:28

Amberleaf: I obviously mean in the pure sense of the word. A poster whose sole purpose is to maliciously goad and antagonise. Lord knows how all this guff goes un-deleted. I think its because the poster in question very cleverly never makes it personal. Ie. she would never say "Mintyy you boring old drone, as a sahm all you do is wipe arses and simper in your dh's direction". Instead she will quite happily say "All sahms only wipe arses and simper in their dh's direction". Smartly done, and gets away without being deleted by hq.

UltraBOF · 07/11/2012 21:40

Absolutely, Mintyy- I don't take any of it at all seriously, but it probably succeeds in upsetting a lot of posters.

edam · 07/11/2012 21:44

Jeez, I didn't realise Saatchi and Saatchi had been involved in some hideous 'Back to the Future' time travel experiment and got stuck in the 1950s. Guess that's what happens in sexist industries where all the men rise to the top. Patronising bell-ends.

If there is anyone out there who is happy doing all the drudgery while the man in their life sits on his fat arse - not just cooking the dinner yourself, but doing ALL the work while no-one else lifts a finger - good luck to you. You'll need it when you have your nervous breakdown.

ibuyjaffacakesnow · 07/11/2012 21:50

I am sure I have read somewhere that it is rather vulgar to brag about how much one earns.

The ad is sexist as are so many. It is particularly bad though and could be used as a teaching tool about what is wrong about women doing all the domestic chores.

Has anyone seen the advert about some sort of insurance where nearly all the mechanical menders are men, but they put in a token woman doing a 'man's' repair a machine job and guess what machine it is, a washing machine.

Softlysoftly · 07/11/2012 21:57

Hahahahahahaha

This thread is sheer genius, Xenia you are my hero, honestly, *actual tears^

Softlysoftly · 07/11/2012 21:57

See cant even see to accentuate correctly!

Wecanfixit · 07/11/2012 22:00

Well I see what you all mean I have a male friend who was left with his 4 kids and he does everything to working full-time, and making the Christmas dinner he is amazing, think Asda are trying to create a hard sell for xmas using this old cliche , maybe they should think again !

OnwardBound · 07/11/2012 22:02

Ooh yes ibuy I think you are talking about the British Gas ad.

Those computer generated figures accompanied by the theme tune to the A team Hmm

Xenia · 07/11/2012 22:03

Who could live on £100k a year...

I'm off to bed. To count my gold...in the right accent of course.

The ASDA CEO is just right for ASDA and the advert has got the attention they wanted and probably reflects their working class dynamic. So God is in her heaven and all is right with the world.

3. The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them high and lowly,
And ordered their estate.

All things bright ...
TheOriginalSteamingNit · 07/11/2012 22:06

And where did He order woman to be when he was worrying about castles and gates?

ibuyjaffacakesnow · 07/11/2012 22:08

yes onward, that is the one!

AmberLeaf · 07/11/2012 22:09

Minty, I know what you mean, but I dont think Xenia even means to stir, I think she wholeheartedly stands by what she says and truely means it all, I dont think she means to offend anyone.

Im sure she thinks she is doing us all a service.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 07/11/2012 22:13

Like if I said 'all women who boast about their careers and sneer at other women are fucking vile ignorant judgmental snobs, and all children who go to habs and NLCS are snobbish little horrors' that might not get deleted, mintyy? Grin

Softlysoftly · 07/11/2012 22:17

She's absolutely right. Seriously where are we coming to when people don't know their place?

MaureenLove · 07/11/2012 22:24

Hey let's not turn this away from the real baddie. ASDA.

OP posts:
TheOriginalSteamingNit · 07/11/2012 22:25

Or saatchi and saatchi, anyway.

boschy · 07/11/2012 22:25

she's drunk I think? on another fred she says the comments on here are "quite fun" - I assume she means hers...

Mintyy · 07/11/2012 22:25

MaureenLove - are you any relation to MaureenMLove?

hiddenhome · 07/11/2012 22:26

I am fighting back.

I returned home from work this evening to a.........clean apartment Shock

That ad is not my life
That ad is not my life
That ad is not my life

(in posh accent even though I originated in the working class west end slums of newcastle upon tyne) Grin

Smile
IsabelleRinging · 07/11/2012 22:29

Asda is a West Yorkshire based company and therefore the marketing reflects this. The staff at headquarters and it's flagships stores have West Yorkshire accents and use regional phrasing because they live and work there.

Waitrose, on the other hand, i am sure, use employees from southern regions because that is where their business is based.

Xenia, there are plenty of middleclass people in yorkshire, they still have a regional accent.

Cortana · 07/11/2012 22:29

Nice one Hidden, hope you enjoy a nice relaxing evening.
