...not to want dh to wander around half-naked?

cavell · 04/11/2012 17:07

Particularly when, by "half naked" I am referring to the bottom half?
Dh likes to wander around wearing just a t-shirt/shirt and no pants such that his "bits" are left dangling. Sometimes he even has socks on, too.
AIBU to find this borderline revolting? It reminds me of a potty-training toddler, tbh.
Background: together 20 years, married 15, two dds aged 11 and 7. DH's body is okay, albeit a bit skinny. He knows I don't like to see him walking around in his state of undress, but he thinks I am becoming prudish and that he should be able to relax in his own home and not worry about what he is wearing... Should add also that my libido is very low at the moment and seeing his undercarriage peeking out from the bottom of a t-shirt isn't helping at all.

garlicbaguette - your post is saying that she shoud make an effort to shag him and then maybe he won't need to make a point.

Did you really mean that?

DontmindifIdo · 04/11/2012 18:56

Garlicbaguette - sorry but I love your kitten story! I hope when you ditched the H you kept the kitten!!!

OP, I second her suggestion, get a kitten!

InNeedOfAPennyForTheGuysBrandy · 04/11/2012 18:57

I'm so suprised about all the naked ass on chairs comments. I'll say again does everyone on here only ever shag in bed. Do you not ever have a quicky on the sofa incase poo particles get on the cushions!

garlicbaguette · 04/11/2012 18:58

No, JF, it doesn't Hmm OP herself made a connection between this behaviour's escalation and a deterioration in their relationship. She didn't, as far as I saw, assume that one prompted the other but she did make a connection. I'm saying the relationship appears to be getting shaky so the pair of them need to address this instead of being passive aggressive towards one another by degrees.

mercibucket · 04/11/2012 18:59

I'd be mortified if my kids said things like that, tbh. We all wander round in various states of undress here. It is weird it's either suddenly started though, which I guess it has if the kids are commenting on it.

MrsTomHardy · 04/11/2012 18:59

Just buy him a dressing gown for christmas and insist he wears it!!

Yuk!!!!

AnyFucker · 04/11/2012 18:59

Penny, yes, but you are bringing this behaviour back to sex again

do you involve your children in your sex life ?

because if you don't, any comments like that have no validity

headinhands · 04/11/2012 19:00

Sorry. Didn't realise it was a drip feed. Yeah he should care but to be honest it appears to be the upshot of a bedroom issue between op and her dp by her own admission.

garlicbaguette · 04/11/2012 19:00

Grin Dontmind, it was very funny! And effective!

schoolgovernor · 04/11/2012 19:02

Look out - man being eaten by a worm. Grin

InNeedOfAPennyForTheGuysBrandy · 04/11/2012 19:04

The OP brought sex into it when she complained of her bedroom issues and of course I don't involve my dc in my sex life what a sick thing to say!

Why is a naked arse ok if your shagging on a sofa but not if your just sat on it. Confused

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:04

" Sounds like you might need a joint, focused effort at getting it back on in the sex department?"

^^ garlicbaguette - that is what you said I why I posted what I did.

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:05

and why.. not I why.

AnyFucker · 04/11/2012 19:08

Penny, I am criticising OP too for "bringing sex into it"

it's nothing to do with sex, or with her sex life (or shouldn't be)

if it is, that is really fucked-up because her daughters are being forced to be part of the sex games being played out here

and that is really fucking disturbing

LadyBeagle · 04/11/2012 19:09

Is it wrong that I'm almost crying with laughter at this thread?
Thanks, Mumsnetters, you never let me down.

cavell · 04/11/2012 19:09

Sorry, don't meananything as a "drip feed". Some "extra information" has been posted in reponse to earlier replies. And some posts are just to show that I am still reading with interest and that I am grateful for replies. (I hate it when someone starts a thread, only to disappear into the ether after people have taken the time and trouble to reply).

OP posts:
garlicbaguette · 04/11/2012 19:10

Is reflecting an OP's comments back to her a posting crime now, JF?

Helltotheno · 04/11/2012 19:11

Why is a naked arse ok if your shagging on a sofa but not if your just sat on it

It's not ok. I don't want jizz stains, poo particles, urine streaks, who knows what the hell else on my nice leather sofa thanks. My house is not a ruddy low-rent knocking shop Grin

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:13

No, garlicbaguette and nowhere did I saw it was.

Your post implied, in my opinion, that she should work to get their physical relationship happening and then maybe the poncing about half naked would stop.

ie he is doing that to piss her off as he is pissed off she won't shag him.

I was trying to have discussion, you are being confrontational with the Hmm and the PA question.

cocolepew · 04/11/2012 19:14

If it is just for comfort then he would have no problem wearing something longer, as linked above.

I have a sneaking suspicion that comfort has bollocks nothing at all to do with it Hmm

garlicbaguette · 04/11/2012 19:14

Psssshht, some people just haven't seen the actual point of leather seating, have they?!
Wink
Although I suppose a deep-grained nap could collect cruddiness in the crevices ...

InNeedOfAPennyForTheGuysBrandy · 04/11/2012 19:15

Helltotheno you have issues Gin or maybe I do thinking thats quite boring (imo whatever works for you great)

Anyfucker I was bringing more nakedness into it for what to me is normal naked situations you brought children into my post, in quite a sick in the head way tbh.

garlicbaguette · 04/11/2012 19:15

Thanks for the reminder why I stay away from AIBU, JF. Enjoy the rest of your fight, I won't be here.

OP, get that kitten Grin

McHappyPants2012 · 04/11/2012 19:15

i wouldn't like it, DH wears only boxers around the house and gets dressed when we have visitors

InNeedOfAPennyForTheGuysBrandy · 04/11/2012 19:16

Yes leather does wipe clean you know!
