To think you should stay out of other people's bedrooms

pil's were just visiting ( for 10 days) and I lost track of the times FIL came into my bedroom. He normally has a problem with boundaries, and after being with dh for 15 years, i am used to it.

Either I was in there, or the dc's were, so to my knowledge he doesn't go in there alone, he doesn't snoop around, he just talks to whoever is in there.

But I would never go into another adults bedroom - we stayed at pil's house for six weeks and I don't think I ever went in their bedroom.

AIBU to think you should respect some spaces in other people's houses? Or is this normal behavior? and no , I didn't confront him.

I go into my mother's bedroom and play with her make up ( she has nicer brands than me) just like I did when I was 15. She is 86 and I am 56.

That made me say "Awwwww...." Smile

EdsRedeemingQualities · 30/10/2012 15:20

I didn't much like it either Mrs...it's at times like this that I question the male presence here. Not because all men make tasteless jokes, just, it seems so masculine to do so and then joke around about offending people afterwards.

ScaryBeardyDeadyman · 30/10/2012 15:22

Is it he-man's shecksy haircut?

CrapBag · 30/10/2012 15:22

It would depend on who it was tbh. I wouldn't like ILs in there.

" it seems so masculine to do so and then joke around about offending people afterwards."

Thats a bit of a bloody generalisation!

The thing is Ed, we all have things that we might be touchy about, bad things that have happened to us and so on. You cant really expect everyone on a forum to be aware of your past and so post as sensitively as you might like.

However, what Beardy said was CLEARLY a joke about the hulk and not a suggestion about having rough sex.

He did explain pretty succinctly what he meant and so to continue to have a pop I think is unfair, especially when you bring in 50% of the population with it.

EdsRedeemingQualities · 30/10/2012 15:30

I know. I was just saying how it made me feel - however misguided or wrong I might be. I've only ever heard men/boys talking like that - especially making light of it when MrsC said she was upset by it.

I'm sure there are women who do it too. It just took me back to the boys I knew at school.

I don't think I'll respond to that MissKL, because it was so rude. I was going to till the last bit. Never mind.

MissKeithLemon · 30/10/2012 15:34

MrsC clearly didn't 'get' the joke

And then made out that she did, but that she was offended anyway Hmm

As I said. Some people love to be offended.

PickledFanjoCat · 30/10/2012 15:34

What if he came on and said thats the thing with you wimmin, always take things too personally/cant take a joke/ etc - he would be lynched.

I personally don't want to see anyone upset but it was a joke that I don't think was understood in the spirit intended.

Personally I am glad to see a couple of nice chaps on here. His comment or response was no worse or no better to what I see everyday on here from many other posters.

MissKeithLemon · 30/10/2012 15:35

Oh I don't mind Ed.

Not at all.

PickledFanjoCat · 30/10/2012 15:35

To be honest I thought it was funny too.

And I certainly don't like jokes about sexual violence.

MissKeithLemon · 30/10/2012 15:38

Bat tits Fanjo! It is obviously a sexy-eight-pack and not bat tits Grin

PickledFanjoCat · 30/10/2012 15:39

Bat-Tits. He wears a Bat Bra and all.

ISeeDeadFairies · 30/10/2012 15:40

My only issue with this is how wrong the whole thing is.

Clearly superman would be a far better fuck. He can fly an everything, could be interesting. Although I imagine he be shit if you had kryptonite!

MissKeithLemon · 30/10/2012 15:41

Arf.

Do you think he has a huge great bat strap on too which he keeps in his batcave to deter unwanted visitors because theres no way he's got much going on under those tight pants of his without some 'help' Grin

cocolepew · 30/10/2012 15:47

If the door was open it wouldn't bother me.

Idiot MIL was playing hide and seek with DD once, she opened our bedroom door and hide under the duvet Hmm

MaryZcary · 30/10/2012 16:39

I thought it was funny too.

Obviously I have a male sense of humour and need to be careful of making any jokes on this female site.

[baffled at massive generalisations]

MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavour · 30/10/2012 16:51

I hate anyone being on my bedroom, it makes me really tense and pissed off, I don't even really know why Grin

I liked the joke, and there nothing wrong with angry fucking( in the right context of course). My preference would have to be bane from batman though, superman he-man and batman all seem waaay to camp Grin

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 30/10/2012 17:23

I'd rather do Robin. It's always the quiet ones!

I found the joke funny and have had bad sexual experiences.

P.s I am not a man. I have a fanjo and everyfing
