AIBU?

To complain (and share with MN) about Zenith Windows rude, sexist and crap service?

Zenith windows door to door salesperson knocked on our door about 4 weeks ago. Like a fool I said we were considering new windows and would like a quote. He pressured me to have one that day or at the weekend but I insisted on the following week. An appointment was made, he wrote it down, I diarised it etc.

The day arrives, Zenith phone me about 2 hours prior to the appointment to confirm they'd see DH and me later. I mentioned it would just be me. They cancelled!! On that basis! Said they'd ring to rearrange a time to see DH too, despite me saying we only want a quote.

Equally incredibly I then heard nothing more. Tonight someone from their company phoned to say I was down as a 'missed 'appointment' and would I like to re-book. Wtaf? I briefly (not like this) said no, not interested as the service had been... Brrrrrrrrr

She hung up! Shall I complain? What for, a written apology? Or save my energy? Fuckers.

Let me know where I should send it. You can ask your Law Lord friend to explain it to you...

Interesting!

I had this recently with " safe style windows", hard sell, refused to see me alone.

Had awful salesman coming with a load of crap we didnt want, they did our neigbours window and we wanted the same thing, we also knew how much they charged our neighbour.

In stead of selling windows he tried to sell us the buy pay later scheme, even when we said we could afford window up front.

Endless calls from HQ - I said " I am turning you down and going with a local man. I have found your sexist theme extremely off putting, its my decision to buy the window, its my money. As such because you have insisted my husband be present, I am turning you down, on this alone, GOOD DAY"

I wonder if enough women actually said what I did, maybe they would wake up, and stop it?

It is interesting BornFree and judging by the industry representative on this thread, we customers are treated with utter contempt. Apparently we're all naive and stupid.

"Let me know where I should send it. You can ask your Law Lord friend to explain it to you..."

Are you sure these credentials are genuine? For what reason would I call somebody who sits in the house of lords over this? Are you insane?

If it's qualifications with articles, I won't need to ask anybody because I'm qualified to recognise them myself.

However, if it's more complicated than that, I'll ask my best friend. A senior legal partner and employer of qualified lawyers.

They are somebody who knows more about legal qualifications than most qualified legal professionals employed in the industry as average jobbing lawyers.

Please send the evidence to my domestic email account at: [email protected]

I very much look forward to seeing it.

As I have said, more than once now. Your assumption I work in the sales profession is false.

"you stupid twat".

This language is deeply unprofessional. There is no call for it, I haven't used such vulgarity when talking to you, even though I can tell by your choice of words you are working class and therefore technically beneath me.

Still awaiting the promised proof of your dubious claim of being a "fully qualified" lawyer.

I don't even think you know what it takes to become a legal professional.

I'm not speaking to you in a professional capacity. I am happy to be described as working-class. You are an idiot and therefore technically beneath me.

"I am happy to be described as working-class. You are an idiot and therefore technically beneath me".

I have scored some of the highest examination results in the country, if you don't mind, I'll take their word, not the word of someone who is lying and trying to insult me.

All you have is playground insults.

Ready to admit you're lying about being a lawyer too?

Not that it had any relevance to begin with.

Yes. You are correct. I have absolutely no idea what it takes to become a lawyer either the solicitor or barrister variety. I am really a working-class idiot with one cse in woodwork to my name.

"You have called me a liar".

I haven't.

But I will this time, because you have lied several times.

You are the troll. You've joined this site to come onto this thread in order to insult and patronise us. You can't take being contradicted, which says a lot about your personality. You have questioned my honesty, my intellect, described me as your inferior and now said I am dirt. Now why don't you bugger off and sell overpriced PVC to the elderly and vulnerable.

Fuck me vascillious shut up. I don't care who you know. I don't care why you're all defensive on behalf of double glazing salesmen if you're not one but you're giving me a head ache. All people need to know when buying Windows is whether they like the design, how well they compare to other windows re insulation (both sound and heat), security, price and whether they are guaranteed and how long for. Most of this can be left in writing along with the quote to peruse without pressure. People aren't stupid they can read and if they are really struggling there's always advice available from people who aren't trying to charge them £30,000 for £5,000 windows. Just shhhhhhh.

4 hours going over the details of windows? Shock Id've topped myself before then.

We're getting new ones fitted soon. All I wanted to know was will they look nice and how much mess would fitting them make. All DH wanted to know was how much. Everything else is just noise.

Our visit lasted 15 minutes and DH wasn't there.

PirateSmile, Since you are obviously utterly determined to draw this discussion into a torrent of immature idiotic playground insults, this will be the last response you hear from me until you mature. Besides that you can be as insulting as you'd like and I'll just ignore you.

"You are the troll. You've joined this site to come onto this thread in order to insult and patronise us".

No, I joined it to dispel some urban myths about the profession. It's regulated pressure tactics are now illegal.

"You can't take being contradicted"

Utter rubbish. For you to have contradicted me you'd have to have disproved something I've said, you haven't. You have tried and failed using falsified untrue statements put out as information. I can take contradiction, but you haven't contradicted me. You've just denied the facts and made things up that aren't true. That isn't contradiction, that's lying.

"Which says a lot about your personality".

I'm not a qualified entertainer, I don't apologise. Meanwhile, you are in no position to comment on personality after writing comments like, what was it? "You fucking twat"? I think you're the loser personality wise too.

"You have questioned my honesty, my intellect, described me as your inferior and now said I am dirt".

The put down remarks are regrettable, however, when I look back to see what you said to me first, I regret it far less. However, you are right, I have questioned your honesty and intellect because you have brought them into question by your own actions. In fact, I go further and say your honesty is not in question, it's obvious that honesty and truthfulness and giving fair representation mean nothing to you.

"Now why don't you bugger off and sell overpriced PVC to the elderly and vulnerable">

Because I don't do it, as I've said at least twice already and I wouldn't want to take the pay cut of being a much maligned double glazing salesman either.
