Watching now. Teenagers being arrested. Parents seem to think that's fine and part of growing up. I cannot believe people like that exist...

No one is saying that but it was her choice to cry rape and I am condensing her for that.

I wasn't even the one to tell that joke but doesn't it involve him too?

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/09/2012 12:20

The "joke" was about her being prostituted as I have clearly pointed out twice.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:20

Condensing? Condemning Confused

TroublesomeEx · 18/09/2012 12:22

It does, Kayano. Actually, I took the joke to be more at his expense than hers anwyay.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:22

The joke was about crabs, at the beach, and from having sex with a stranger for £5

It's not a hard stretch to imagine he could have coughs something, especially as she was known to police!

Hmm
GoldShip · 18/09/2012 12:22

I'm just watching it now. I'm gobsmacked.

TroublesomeEx · 18/09/2012 12:22

prostituting herself.

lotsofteddies · 18/09/2012 12:22

Exactly proudnscary. She was not a hard nut to crack. I felt really sorry for her and wonder if she was even aware she'd be on TV.

I find a man in his position, talking about a lady like that in the manner that he did very uncomfortable viewing. Of course the rest was upsetting but when you saw the parents, no I didn't find it shocking, sad yes. The policeman should've known better.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 18/09/2012 12:22

Every single human being on this planet has free choice.

Did Andreas daughter become a drinking lout because thats what her life is? Thats all she knows?

No she didnt. She used her own free choice to make something of her life despite the hell daily living is.

The prostitute might have had reasons. Might have felt there was no other way.

But there is always another way.

TroublesomeEx · 18/09/2012 12:23

That ain't no lady.

lotsofteddies · 18/09/2012 12:23

"Equal opportunities mocker" Grin

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/09/2012 12:23

It is clearly mocking her for charging a fiver and saying she probably had crabs. But I can understand you wanting to deny that you defended a joke that clearly mocked a prostituted woman.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:24

Lotsofteddies

Considering they have to sign consent forms I should imagine she knew she would be on tv

They didn't show Andreas daughter

TroublesomeEx · 18/09/2012 12:25

*woman who prostitutes herself.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/09/2012 12:27

wannabe - You have no idea of her life, how can you say that? I have listened to women who were prostituted for m,any years who started after being prostituted by their own father to other men as young children and carried on with it into adulthood. They have talked about being addicted to drink and/or drugs from early teenage years either because they were given these by parents and other adults, or as a way of coping with their life.

Some of you seem to have led a very sheltered life and frankly have no idea of what some womens lives are like.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:27

Or mocking the bloke for paying a fiver for a quicky on the beach.

In the relationships forum if anyone says 'my husband slept with a prostitute' they say 'GET AN STD CHECK!'

And people don't say 'hang on, are you implying a hard done by prostitute has an std just because she is a prostitute? How very dare you she has had a hard life'

Careless sex = bad shit

It's not even really a joke Hmm

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 18/09/2012 12:27

I didn't see this programme but the woman under the pier sounds very similar to one in the tourist town I used to live in. She did similar things, including picking up punters in the park or on the beach on sunny afternoons during the school holidays.

Yes, she was a nuisance - I was one of the parents who had to explain to small children why 'that man and lady are wrestling with no clothes on', or why 'that lady is strolling down the high street with her boobies on show'. However, while I found her actions terrible, I did have sympathy for her because she was still a human being who for various reasons had ended up living a really shitty life.

As quite a few local people pointed out, she had spent years in psychiatric units only to be turned out to be cared for in the community. Except there was no real care, so she slipped through the cracks.

Aboutlastnight · 18/09/2012 12:28

She's a junkie /alcoholic having sex for money to buy more of what she craves.

The men paying for sex should be humiliated on national TV
, not her. Sad bastards.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:29

Eats - again shutting us down by saying we obviously must have no idea

This is our favourite thing to do on various threads it seems.

We do have an idea funnily enough. I live on one of those estates in the show and I will be damned if dd is getting raised here. I'm saving every penny.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 18/09/2012 12:29

Where I used to live there was a young woman in her twenties whoa t times used to walk about the high street literally half dressed or be used as a prostitute by men. She was clearly mentally ill and very very vulnerable. But thats community care for you!

GoldShip · 18/09/2012 12:29

Let's flip this around.

If it was a male alcoholic who'd had sex with a teenage girl, this argument wouldn't be happening. He'd be called every name under the sun

happybubblebrain · 18/09/2012 12:30
GoldShip · 18/09/2012 12:30

I know people like this woman. They don't want help. They just want money. And they'll lower themselves to that level because they don't give a shit.

It said in the documentary she's known to the police. They're probably sick to the back teeth of her. I'd joke about her too.

Kayano · 18/09/2012 12:31

True. But joy can't condemn a woman because she had no choice at all for her actions.

I don't know why I tried so hard at Uni, I should have just gone with the flow, I would obv have ended up in the same place

lotsofteddies · 18/09/2012 12:31

Kayano, that's good.

I'm glad that policeman has obviously never been in a position where he feels he needs to give someone a blowjob to fund whatever addiction. I just found a terribly sad situation handled very inappropiately and uprofessionally I didn't say he should be her friend.
