To think Peaches Geldof should have strapped her baby in?

KnockKnockPenny · 10/09/2012 09:43

and also, put the phone down when her baby fell out of his pram!

Have just seen photos of her poor baby tumbling out of his pram onto a pavement. I know the council should have sorted the pavement out, but he wouldnt have fallen out if he was strapped in :(

sorry for The Sun link

There are more shocking things to gnash your teeth about surely.

5madthings · 10/09/2012 17:15

no you do NOT know, you are NOT living her life, tbh the life of a celebrity is not one i would want to live.

Viviennemary · 10/09/2012 17:16

I saw a couple of pictures. It looks to me as if a small bag had fallen out of the pram and she could have tripped over that.

Kayano · 10/09/2012 17:18

I know accident happen Hmm I've had them myself

The only difference between us is you say 'oops I've had an accident'

And I say
'well that was shit on my part'

Although I wouldn't call yours shit as your child climbed out of straps and hers weren't on

I'm not the only one who thinks this way hence the op not being started by me

Moominsarescary · 10/09/2012 17:19

Bloody hell that was awful! That's a very lucky baby

My mum was saying the other day that when ds1 was around 18 months old (he's 17 now) she turned a corner in the car and the car seat toppled over, shed forgot to strap him in.

She didn't tell me at the time Hmm

Moominsarescary · 10/09/2012 17:21

The one on the train track I mean

Moominsarescary · 10/09/2012 17:21

Shed forgot to strap the car seat in! I give up today

Prarieflower · 10/09/2012 17:22

Oh for goodness sake 5 she chooses to live like that. You hear/see nothing re her sisters. She chooses to Tweet pictures of her son daily,to do crap TV shows, put herself and her son in the limelight and the media and inflict us all with her vapid opinion.

Enough all ready with the baby pics,I just can't believe the arrogance of thinking the world is interested in this continuous feed of pics because.....well I don't know why really, what does she actually do?

5madthings · 10/09/2012 17:24

you do hear stuff about her sisters actually and she tweets, so what so do bloody millions of other people, they also tweet pics of themselves and their children. its what a lot of parents do,not just famous ones.

i dont think she chose to have famous parents somehow.

LilyCocoplatt · 10/09/2012 17:26

I feel for Peaches, I'm no fan of her but we have all made mistakes, I know I've forgotten to strap my DD into the carseat when she was a similar age to Peaches' baby, opened passenger door, put baby in, thought I would do the straps up when I got in the drivers seat to save stretching over (yes, the baby was in the front passenger seat, airbag was off and she used to scream blue murder if I put her in the back while rear facing and she couldn't see me, I figured it was safer to have a mostly calm baby in the front than a mostly screaming one in the back distracting me) and totally forgot about the straps until I got home. Thankfully it was a short trip through town on roads with no higher than 30mph speed limit, I still get chills when I think what could have happened had it been the dual carriageway and I'd had to brake sharply or had a crash. I know for sure I was sleep deprived, give Peaches the benefit of the doubt, we don't know that she has a nanny doing the night feeds, she could well be doing them herself if breastfeeding.

Kayano · 10/09/2012 17:28

Well you barely hear about her sisters... I can't even tell you their names although I'm sure they will be interesting

She puts Herself Out there, she had her own tv show. Hardly just because she had famous parents

Prarieflower · 10/09/2012 17:28

If you don't want to live in the public eye or to subject your baby who isn't old enough to choose for himself you don't Tweet, publish countless pics or do the media thing.

She chooses to live in the public eye and you don't get to pick and choose what the public see when you do that.

5madthings · 10/09/2012 17:35

i never said she should pick or choose, i dont think it means her parenting should be picked apart on a parenting forum tho, hardly supportive is it.

and none of her sisters have recently got married or had a baby, or they would probably have been in the media as well. one of her younger sisters is in the press quite often for her drunken antics and the elder one has stuff fairly often, normally commenting on how she has gained weight, there are some rather nasty articles out there actually.

so yes she courts fame, it doesnt mean she deserves to be slated over an accident, one that can happy to many parents and has done as documented on this thread and others.

unless of course if you are famous you have to be a perfect parents? but no-one is that anyway.

if i was her i would have probalby been inclined to defend myself on twitter, why shouldnt she.

FrothyOM · 10/09/2012 17:35

I came here looking for a parent support forum. Could someone direct me to one please. Hmm

Kayano · 10/09/2012 17:36

You are on a topic called AIBU

Suggesting there will be more than one viewpoint.

Parenting section is canny

Sparklingbrook · 10/09/2012 17:37

You are on the right Website FrothyOM however you are in the wrong topic. Sad

EverlongYouAreGoldAndOrange · 10/09/2012 17:38

Why is Peaches so disliked?

I don't remember her beating an old lady or writing off her porche while drink driving and nearly killing someone.

Leave the girl alone ffs.

Prarieflower · 10/09/2012 17:42

Frothy I'm sorry but what exactly is the point of aibu but to discuss many, many aspects of parenting amongst other aspects.Parenting is continuously judged on MN you clearly haven't been here long if you don't know that. The day posters aren't allowed to express opinions on parenting is the day MN will cease to be.

No said accident wouldn't happen to all parents, many choose not to continuously talk on mobiles and not to double check their baby is strapped in when pushing with one hand.

Sorry I refuse to be bullied into saying something isn't shit when I think it is.

I've defended many, many posters accused of poor choices when parenting over the years,I don't choose to on this occasion.Sorry she was lax imvho and yes she needs to own it like we all do.

limitedperiodonly · 10/09/2012 17:43

I never really liked Peaches Geldof until today. Don't know what made me change my mind...

BegoniaBampot · 10/09/2012 17:44

She chooses to a degree but had no choice in her famous parents and all the stuff she had to deal with as a child.

so She chooses , as can the people on this thread who like to comment in a negative, quite nasty way . Why choose to put the boot in and be so judgemental? Choices, choices, choices.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/09/2012 17:45

Millions of young mums tweet or go on facebook, she's not the only one.
She just happens to be someone that get's papped.
Ok, she has courted fame, but I don't see why she can't just walk down the street with her baby.
And the pram quite clearly toppled over, whether her son was strapped in or not, it must have still been a shock, the pavement was uneven.
Anyone could have tripped over and broken an ankle or something.

EverlongYouAreGoldAndOrange · 10/09/2012 17:49

frothy AIBU isn't the best to look for support.

It's a place where people ask AIBU. But then all hell let's loose if you disagree with them.

Stay away is my best advice.

Much nicer bits to mumsnet than this mess.

Sparklingbrook · 10/09/2012 17:51

AIBU isn't the best place to look for anything much.

Prarieflower · 10/09/2012 17:51

Ever I dislike her as she is extremely rude and arrogant, the Fearne Cotton thing was just awful to watch.Sooooo up her own backside, for what??????

EverlongYouAreGoldAndOrange · 10/09/2012 17:58

' extremely rude and arrogant ' oh I'm sorry I didn't realise you knew her.
