I can't help it. He had a beard when we met and I fancied f* out of him. I'm all about the hairy men. He's a good looking guy, but when he shaves he's just not as good looking. AIBU?

YANBU. I feel exactly the same.

BurlingtonBertieFromBow · 04/09/2012 00:07

I think YANBU - my dad looks like a totally different person if he shaves off his beard (only did it once in 40 years, that's how weird he looks - I was 5 and I cried because he looked so different) - he basically has no chin! If I passed him in the street with no beard I wouldn't recognise him.

pictish · 04/09/2012 00:08

I like a beard. My dh has one. I much prefer him grizzly.

pictish · 04/09/2012 00:09

Oh ha ha! i remember crying at my dad shaving his beard off too! Honestly I was a bit scared.

I'm with you on this one whiskeyfudge. I'm really not very happy when dh shaves (or even when he trims too closely). I find the grizzly look very attractive (I generally like my film stars bearded too).

FarloWearsAGoldRibbon · 04/09/2012 00:13

YANBU, I love my DH's. He doesn't look like himself at all without it.

McHappyPants2012 · 04/09/2012 00:16

i am the opposite, hate DH with a beard

rogersmellyonthetelly · 04/09/2012 08:11

I also don't fancy dh with a beard. Stubble and slightly rough/ unkemp definately, t but a proper groomed beard just doesn't do it for me im afraid. I have only ever fancied one man with a beard and he was utterly gorgeous, and would have fancied him even with a goatee an half his eyebrow shaved off!

WelshMaenad · 04/09/2012 08:20

YANBU. It feels like I'm fucking a boy scout, and not in a good, kinky way. He is not permitted to shave it clean.

QOD · 04/09/2012 08:32

My dad came to pick dsis and I up once, I was about 13 ish. I opened the door, stared blankly, said hang on a minute, went in the lounge and said

"mum there's a man at the door, I think it's dad but im not sure, can you check"

Hahahahaha

It was

NoToastWithoutKnickers · 04/09/2012 08:36

QOD Grin
My OH had a beard when I first met him and I thought he looked lovely. He got rid of it after a month because he'd only been growing it in memory of a friend who had recently died. He hated it and has vowed never to grow one again. I'm Sad

RikersBeard · 04/09/2012 08:36

yanbu
Beards are lovely

MrsKeithRichards · 04/09/2012 08:37

I cried when my dad shaved his beard off. I was 14!

Lancrehotpot · 04/09/2012 08:48

My DH really suits his beard and I'm gutted that he's shaved it off with no intention of growing it back. He is nice-looking without it, but it's sort of a 'safe', sanitised handsomeness. I hate the sensation of kissing a freshly-shaven face; it's like kissing a laydee.
Hope he doesn't read this.
Sorry DH please grow it back and never get rid of it again!

valiumredhead · 04/09/2012 08:50

I have never forgiven dh for shaving his off 9 years ago Sad It grows back when he's on holiday though which I love!

SirBoobAlot · 04/09/2012 08:51

YABVU

Stubble rash.

DoMeDon · 04/09/2012 09:12

YABU - beards are....... I don't know, they just are.

SoupDragon · 04/09/2012 09:16

LOL - I read the thread titles and (although I knew this wasn't correct) had visions of a fake knitted beard being removed :o

SoupDragon · 04/09/2012 09:17

I hate beards though.

ALthough Hugh Jackman is much improved with his Wolverine sideburns as they hide his weak chin.

Lancrehotpot · 04/09/2012 09:33

SirBoobALot But stubble rash is worse no, when you live with lazy clean-shaven person? Beards are rougher, but not actually painfulGrin

Lunatic, my Dad has a beard and my sister and I both married beardies!

Binkyridesagain · 04/09/2012 09:58

I'm wondering if my DH is odd, he has never grown or attempted to grow a beard.

RevDebeezWoodall · 04/09/2012 10:02

YANBU.

DP has a lovely ginger beard and sideburns Like some of your DH he looks twelve when he shaves.
