WIBu retaliating re the rude woman in the carpark

Yesterday morning I went to the supermarket. I was in a hurry as I had to finish a pavlova to take to a friends party. The supermarket was packed and traffic was standing waiting for spaces (one in one out). I was politely queueing when a driver got into her car just ahead of me obviously about to vacate a space. I waited behind the space indicating left that I was waiting . I gave her enough room and time to manoevre out. As she was doing this I saw an old woman in a bettered car behind me trying to squeeze down the inside to pass me and making it difficult for the other driver. I hooted as she almost scraped my car. To my disbelief she then swung into the space I had patiently waited for. I wound down my window to state the obvious that she was taking my space. She replied "so what" . I said you can't do that, we are all waiting". She relied I can do what I like. Two other drivers who had witnessed this also got out of cars to back me up. I was livid. In the end the parking warden came to sort it out. He pointed out another space ahead now empty and asked me to park in it. I did . I returned to speak to the other woman (aged about 80, dark glasses and very snotty). She continued to be rude when I repeated that her behaviour was unacceptable, and rude. After finishing my shopping 10 minutes later I was still very shaken up and angry. I tool a carton of cream from my bag and dribbled the word RUDE on her windscreen before driving off.

I say
What a bunch of miserable cunts.
GO OP!

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 27/08/2012 18:13

If people didn't hover waiting for spaces, car parks wouldn't get so congested. I think it's quite rude an annoying to sit waiting while someone else gets in their car and vacates the space. Move on!

alemci · 27/08/2012 19:03

yes but what if there isn't any other space. i am quite happy if someone wants my space and waits, i feel if i vacate i have helped someone out.

i will hover if someone is clearly going and i want to get into a carpark.

ShiftyFades · 27/08/2012 19:20

original the OP wasn't hovering for a space, she was in a queue within the car park, the queue was there because it was so full it was a "one in, one out" situation. As OP waited in the queue someone parked just ahead was leaving so she waited to park in the space.

exoticfruits · 27/08/2012 19:23

People get very funny in car parks-I was once just trying to get out and a woman was convinced I was trying to take the place she was queuing for-it was virtually impossible to make gestures to say that I didn't want her space-I was leaving!

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 27/08/2012 19:30

Yeah but you wouldn't know if there was another space if all you did was hover at the first you saw!

ShiftyFades · 27/08/2012 19:45

But she was stationary, in a queue and then someone pulled out, so she waited for that person to leave... Are you suggesting she should have slowly driven pass and continue in the queue?!!Confused

It would appear that all the rational- minded adults have left MN and have been replaced by thuggish children.

op what you did was ridiculously immature and very pathetic. People who key cars, fucking twats. Your children must be delightful if this is the kind of example they are set.

BuntCadger · 27/08/2012 20:39

Lol at those saying waiting for someone to leave a space is rude. I guess one of you could be the rude bitch tooting her horn at me whilst I waited for a woman to reverse out of the P&C space so I could park there.

OP I still think good on you, tho squirts cream would of been easier. And did you have your pavlova? Grin

CrispyCod · 27/08/2012 20:48

OP, I feel you may have found a gap in the market here. Perhaps you could create a line of products specifically for this purpose. We may see you on Dragon's Den. Grin

olympicsrock · 27/08/2012 20:51

Yes thankyou Bunt - the pavlova was delicious

Yeah that's right, a one in one out car park, but when you find a space you should just drive past it! Yeah ok, because spaces aren't for parking it are they Hmm

There was me going to car parks looking for spaces and i should have been just driving past the spaces over and over again, just in case i delayed the person behind for a few seconds. Confused

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 27/08/2012 21:12

Meh, personally I would avoid hovering where humanly possible, which I think it pretty much always is.

PooPooOnMars · 27/08/2012 21:22

Really? Because I've driven around in local car parks for half hour before without even the opportunity of hovering!

also alot of people (including me) get quite stressed out driving and parking. if we see someone going and the car park is busy, then we will hover rather than worry if there is any more spaces.

i have got better over the years' but if i am going somewhere uncertain it does bother me. what if i can't park etc

twofingerstoGideon · 28/08/2012 10:22

CockyPants - If you read the thread you will see more than one poster claim that they do, in fact, key cars if they don't like the way someone parks. Even parking slightly wonky will get your car keyed by one particularly nice-sounding person.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 28/08/2012 10:29

I'm sure I should be shocked but actually I just wish I had the nerve to do this on occasion.

Keying cars though is never justified and is pathetic. I can't tell you how upset and shaken I would be if someone did this to my car :(
