It is dolescum, plus work shy pack of bastards
But the best she reserves for Cathy Carter Smith - tubby little tit witch!

limitedperiodonly · 25/08/2012 13:03

So it is dolescum.

Panzee · 25/08/2012 13:28

I am gutted about the Masons! I had a 'special' burger in there once. :o

Panzee · 25/08/2012 13:29

Also Pauline calls them a "waste of skin"

Debeez · 25/08/2012 13:40

I've just popped of the DVD of the first season. Classic.

I have a husband you know.....

flapperghasted · 25/08/2012 13:41

I can I can't? Are you local?????

Tanith · 25/08/2012 13:46

I think you had to have seen the episodes of ACGAS between James Heriot, Mrs. Pomfrey and spoilt, pampered Tricky-Woo to get the exploding dog sketch.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 25/08/2012 13:52

That's brilliant, Bigbuttons!

muffinino82 · 25/08/2012 14:07

Favourite moment: Pauline returning to the JobCentre after her sacking and having a homo-erotic standoff with Cathy Carter Smith.

Ha! I love the Live At Drury Lane where they do this scetch, fight, kiss, and then all you hear Shearsmith and Pemberton's muffled giggles Grin

I watched the first episode opening. The hearse came by with BASTARD spelled out in the floral tribute.
I knew I was going to love it

Me too - immediately I knew it would be for me. That was quite a few years ago now, 1999, it doesn't seem that long as it's still quite fresh. I even liked the film and loved the third series.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 25/08/2012 14:09

I saw the live show at St George's Hall in Bradford. Bloody fab it was!

slowestwildebeast · 25/08/2012 14:17

Has anyone listened to the audio stuff they did I think prior to tlog?
It is defiinately worth a listen.

The voicemails he leaves for his date?

"you're good! But you're big!"

slowestwildebeast · 25/08/2012 14:24

I love it!! Hello Dave, you're my wife now!

I did actually have a nightmare once that Papa Lazarou was trying to steal DS1 and we hid in the boot of a neighbours car. It was really vivid and quite scary!

I still ask dh for I can I can't when he goes to the shop. In fact I ask my stepkids too, who are too young to understand, but put up with my talking in comedy quotes all the time!

I'd love to visit the places it was filmed, especially the local shop for local people.

unhombre · 25/08/2012 14:44

Ah the local shop of Tubs and Edward - the exterior shots are on a hill nr Marsden in W.Yorks, just over the Peninnes, and the interior are studio sets.

FasterHigherBeardierDaddyman · 25/08/2012 14:56

hello Dave!

Debeez · 25/08/2012 15:18

Up to leg akimbo episode. Apparently Olly's wife is living with a female Geoff Capes. Grin

Panzee · 25/08/2012 15:35

I love On the Town. Still skip the Dr Chinnery episodes though! :)

LadyMaryCrawley · 25/08/2012 15:36

The safe word is... Juliet Bravo!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 25/08/2012 16:30

Deafblind Panzee, it's all one word!

krasnayaploshad · 25/08/2012 17:07

oh echt I think asking "are you local" must be a universal thing! I get asked that all the time in my part of the UK, or I'm told "you're not from round here". When I say, yes I'm local & mention the village 5 miles down the road, I'm told "that's not local" !!

The League of Gentlemen is my favourite TV show. It was screened over 10yrs ago in Australia on a Friday evening on the ABC so I think most people would have missed it.
now for some more tlog quotes
'no solids in the downstairs toilets'
'I have some rather upsetting news'

'this is a local shop for local people, there's nothing for you here'
My favourite Pauline quote is 'I said your welcome.' woman replies 'oh, thankyou'
P - "that's all it takes" Have been tempted to use that one on various occasions when encountering rude people.

Panzee · 25/08/2012 17:22

We say "In this house..." a lot. And when my mum starts issuing cleaning/tidying instructions, I start chanting "Black for paper, blue for string..." :o

Tanith · 25/08/2012 18:01

"...And in the cupboard 'neath the stair..."

Debeez · 25/08/2012 18:02

"....You'll find the red, for pubic hair"

CelticOlympian · 25/08/2012 19:06

That towel poem is my all time favourite LOG quote. I say it a lot to bemused people.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 25/08/2012 19:08

Ahem Hmm
