In Brighton yesterday, lots of flesh and tattoos on display. Aibu to think they can be artful but never make person look more classy sadly?

I had tattoos to look:
More voluptuous
More healthy
More condescending
More classy
More Lithuanian

Neither of these worked. I wonder why? Confused

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 16:41

Btw I have two tattoos and I'm planning more!

I have quite a big one on my.wrist.and one at the bottom of my back

Yes i have a "tramp stamp".Grin

Fourfingerkitkat · 19/08/2012 16:44

In general I don't like tattoos but every so often I see women who have embraced the whole kind of burlesque tattooed look and they look brilliant, are usually immaculately made up and very classy. Hate the tramp stamps and wonder what the point of them is though ....? In case the boyfriend forgets who he's having sex with that night ? I hate tattoos across the breast area....It's bugger all to do with class though...just personal taste.

Fourfingerkitkat · 19/08/2012 16:45

oops sorry SPs just saw your comment about the tramp stamp and it crossed my post...All personal taste as I said

badgeroncaffeine · 19/08/2012 16:46

A tattoo has never, ever made anyone look better. They look universally trashy.

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 16:48

kit Kat pretty good xpost there! Grin

My tramp stamp o got at 15 so that's my excuse

LRDtheFeministDragon · 19/08/2012 16:48

'answer me how that can ever be considered classy/feminine or right?'

Shit!

You know what I forgot to do this morning?!

I forgot to look feminine. Sad

There I was thinking waking up with a vagina attached would do it. What a fool.

threesocksmorgan · 19/08/2012 16:49

i think people who judge people who have tattoos have no class

lilachair · 19/08/2012 16:53

I have tons of tattoos, I love them all and I couldn't give a flying fuck what you think.

HTH. Grin

badgeroncaffeine · 19/08/2012 16:54

I think people who have tattoos have no class.

Fourfingerkitkat · 19/08/2012 16:55

I suppose we all judge people when we look at them...rightly or wrongly. I have a strawberry birth mark on my shoulder and avoided wearing vest tops or off shoulder tops for years because of feeling self conscious. Plucked up some courage to show off my shoulders in a top a few years ago and was asked by some silly cow in the toilets if I'd been bitten by a shark (it's pretty badly scarred too), Think she had tattoos as well !!!

ShellyBoobs · 19/08/2012 16:55

I would never have a tattoo myself and would leave OH if he had one but I don't really care what other people adorn themselves with.

I do wonder, though, what they will look like on someone in old age.

Having said that, it will probably be nothing unusual to see old people with tattoos in years to come given their popularity now.

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 16:55

LRD I failed too. Having a Fanjo obviously doesn't mean anything and now I have doodles scribbled on my body I have lost all my rights to be feminine

LRDtheFeministDragon · 19/08/2012 16:57

Tis probably because your fanjo is hairy, though, SP.

Or you failed to wear a skirt 24/7.

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 16:58

Oh Jesus! I'm wearing jeans. Defiantly don't deserve to look feminine now.

I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life now.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 19/08/2012 16:58

But doesn't your fanjo have "P&G" tattooed on it SPs ? Grin

Empusa · 19/08/2012 17:00

"answer me how that can ever be considered classy/feminine or right?"

Or right? What as in morally? Legally? Ethically?

Hmm
SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 17:01

No McDonalds and Coca Cola have paid for the tattoo on fanjo. How else would people know about the Olympics!

P&G asked then saw I had a tramp stamp and realised I wasn't feminine enough.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 19/08/2012 17:03

I have just put Verdi's Requiem on the CD player, in mourning for all of our lost femininities.

I do hope you'll join me in a minute's silence.

lljkk · 19/08/2012 17:09

I like some tattoos, but classy is not the right word to describe any of them.
Ugh, I suppose a beautiful tattoo could make someone look less rough, but they'd have to look pretty darn rough to start with.

mercury7 · 19/08/2012 17:11

I think what's needed is some sort of butterfly net type of equipment, the femininity is a wispy ethereal thing which sometimes can be caught in ones peripheral vision.
I think it could probably be trapped in the net and re appropriated?

Dont know what 'class' looks like so have no idea how I can get me some Confused

mercury7 · 19/08/2012 17:15

what gets me is those people with NO tattoo's they look so horribly smooth...so pretentiously elegant..I mean wtf why would anyone want to look like that, I just dont get itConfused

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 19/08/2012 17:20

mercury I understand! What's classy about having plain skin?!

mercury7 · 19/08/2012 17:23

..infact it is unnatural not to want to permanently mark your skin, it's a quintessentially human desire.
Humans have been tattooing themselves since palaeolithic times, people who dont like tattoo's are clearly going against basic inherent features of human nature

mercury7 · 19/08/2012 17:25

yeah, it's so fricking boring and unimaginative, so eww I cant, it might hurt, I might regret it, I mean stop whining you bunch of pussies
