I always think 'Bertie' is a shortened version of Albert.

My DS is called Ben (his name is Benjamin, but he's never used it). To be fair, it was the only name that his dad & I agreed on (I wanted Max). I was being bullied by overbearing ILs, around the hospital bed, I was young, tired & wanting to BF, so I just agreed to the best name. He looks like a Ben now.

Not sure about drippy names, normally things like Peter, and oh god Theo (I couldn't hate a name more, well apart from Angus) or worse Simon/ Gregory and spits Nathaniel.

Well I suppose if you're Ben Fogel then a resounding YES. He is the drippiest man ever, regardless of his name. Ben Daniels however, could never be drippy... not ever. So maybe it's not all in a name?
