To moan at a man parked in parent & child bay when he was clearly childless!!

Had a lovely moan at a man parked in a parent & child bay today at a supermarket!! He told me to f**k off as he could park there as it was the first space he saw and he has a daughter at home!!!!

Carpark attendant saw the incident and told me I was out of order!!! As a result of this idiotic man parked in that space I had to struggle to get a infant carseat out of a 3door car in a normal space.

Was I unreasonable to have a go at the man??

Sorry for the long post

why didn't you just take the baby out? Surely you park in some car parks without P and C spaces anyway?

He shouldn't have park there, you shouldn't have had a go at him.

Life is to short to get upset about a parking space

Schoolworries · 11/08/2012 20:13

yanbu!

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 20:13

Trying to get baby out of the seat would of been more trouble! Have hardly any space in the back of my car. I very rarely park in carparks as I tend to park for free on roads near where I need to be

It is not worth getting your knickers in a twist over.

Disabled spaces yes but not p&c.

DappyHays · 11/08/2012 20:16

Also it seems you have the wrong car for your needs.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 20:18

Yes I do have a 3door car but money will not allow a 5door car!!

If you can park properly You can get a car seat out fine.

pfb? Or just hideously entitled mother?

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 20:19

It's not always my parking that's an issue - have you seen how other people abandon their cars park

I see it almost every day and it does make me angry but sadly theres not much you can do Sad, i would reccomend buying a 5 door car though Grin.

Sirzy · 11/08/2012 20:22

Well as it made you struggle to get the car seat out then why not just park somewhere else if others where parked badly?

iloveACK · 11/08/2012 20:22

I don't think you are being unreasonable actually. I know P&C car parking spaces cause a furore on MN, but if they are there, they are clearly there to help parents who have children with them & struggle because they do need the extra space Grin

AgentProvocateur · 11/08/2012 20:23

Gosh, I wonder how I survived when the DC were small, 17 years ago, when there was no such thing as P&C parking...

RubyFakeNails · 11/08/2012 20:23

I was trying to avoid it but I can't help but post.

YABU I park in them all the time without kids, try and stop me.

Don't be so entitled and pathetic.

AnaIsAlwaysShocked · 11/08/2012 20:24

I had a 3 door car and got DD1 & 2 out in carseats fine. Just park slightly over to one side. HTH Smile

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/08/2012 20:25

First time I have heard having a daughter at home entitles you to use a parent and child space. I reserve the annoyance for people who park in disabled spaces without blue badges and then affect a really pathetic slight limp if they see anyone looking though, surprisingly common.

Err pot and kettle there ruby (calling the OP 'entitled' while being gleeful that you park there without kids) Hmm

CakeBump · 11/08/2012 20:26

Yes YABU.

The man is entitled to park anywhere he likes, except disabled spaces.

I can see how some people would regard having a child as a form of disability, but I don't see why you need bigger spaces, nearer the door. Park further away from the door next time, there'll be fewer cars and you'll have more space. Your children will thank you for the extra walk....
