I don't understand (bar finances and even then not really an excuse) why some women when they become parents, out goes the stylish clothes, in comes Tesco mummy jeans!

Out goes the decent hair cut/colour, in comes uncombed hair.

There is NO excuse (apart from depression before the righteous mafia comes for my neck, haha.

Seriously it really bugs me.

Dilly you just did it!! Your little 'those of us that have better things to do' was pretty rude. You see and hear it all the time.

It takes me 15 minutes to sort my hair and face. No one starves in that time.

In fact I'd hazard a guess and say it takes me less time to get ready than some people spend on nm of a morning.

Gimmie Mary speaks the truth. You hold the wine between your feet on a flat surface and very carefully shove the handle of the wooden spoon so that the cork ends up in the wine. Not to be used on a bottle of wine over about £3 obviously.

When I was at uni my mum popped in to see me and my flatmates and I were stressing because we couldn't find a bottle opener. My mother, in all her tee total middle aged Cotton Trader glory, promptly grabbed the wine and opened it like an expert. My flatmates gave her a huge round of applause and she became something of a hero to them. Grin By the time we moved out the flat we had to paint the kitchen walls to cover the red wine splashes. Happy days.

Quick question - sorry for being dumb but I am new & only been on here 3 days.

What is with the yellow thing with the red dot?

Blush
wankpants · 10/08/2012 09:28

Is there a link to the BM thread? That sounds great for Friday larfs.

HexagonalQueenOfEveything · 10/08/2012 09:28

bubalou I too am very jealous of those that can get away with no make up. My friend has the most amazing glowing skin with no circles under her eyes, what a cow!

usualsuspect · 10/08/2012 09:30

I'm not offended professionally or otherwise by goaders who start threads just to get a reaction.

It's called trolling.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 10/08/2012 09:31

You are reminding me of my undergrad days, mega.

My dad once brought us vile czech spirits in a litre bottle - it was revolting but we couldn't throw away good booze so we make 'cocktails' Hmm with really strong red wine to disguise the taste until it was all gone.

Happy days indeed.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 10/08/2012 09:32

I can't find it. It was when she mentioned her wedding that it rang bells.

I am pretty sure it got deleted.

wankpants · 10/08/2012 09:33

An advanced search on the OP proved....interesting. Wink

SamuelWestsMistress · 10/08/2012 09:33

Because when you are a parent then you realise that there are more important things in the world. And for most of us who really don't give a fuck you are flattering yourself that we would want to look good to a deluded individual like yourself anyway. Now off you pop back to Dailymailand.

bubalou · 10/08/2012 09:33

hexagonal I too have friends like these Angry - secretly hating them from afar.

I do like to look a bit glam for dinner etc but would LOVE to feel ok to even pop to the shop without make up which I cannot do.

I had acne from 12 onwards & although I don't have it now or any scarring etc, i took to wearing make up very young. I think it's more a comfort now then anything.

WorraLiberty · 10/08/2012 09:36

bubalou can you not see the smiley list?

It tells you what it and other emoticons are

Megatron · 10/08/2012 09:36

LRD I'm getting all misty eyed thinking of the days of pot noodles and baked beans (mixed together) and finding a rogue shopping trolley in the hall one morning. The OP would have heart failure at the state we looked in those days. Grin

if I'm stuck i just push my long back door key in and pull, and voila open

bubalou · 10/08/2012 09:38

Haha - a little confused. I can't see it on my emoticon list. I'm on my phone now but couldn't see it yesterday on my computer.

Will have a look. I like biscuits. Smile haha

CrunchyFrog · 10/08/2012 09:39

"get away" with no make up?

What does that mean? I don't wear any day to day. Who should I be checking with to ensure that I can still "get away" with it? Is there an authority, or even an online checklist?

Hmm
AGiraffeOnTheDivingBoard · 10/08/2012 09:39

Really? At 1.20 in the morning the thing that keeps you awake is the fact there are women out there wearing unfashionable jeans. Hmm

The Euro is collapsing and likely to take us all with it. The credit crunch we've had so far is going to look as comfortable and fun as Simon Cowell's luxury holiday in comparison. Just in case you needed a reason to stay up and worry tonight.

Biscuit
MrsBucketxx · 10/08/2012 09:39

infact it a foxes jammy cream biscuit yum yum
