Afternoon naps

Another weekend and DH is having yet another afternoon nap. He did let me lie in until 9:30.

What would you guys do with DD for 4-5 hours on a Sunday afternoon??

What would you do if your DH was awake? Just do that.

It's a beautiful day though so I'd go over the park

I like a nap in the afternoon on a weekend

DH usually takes them out to the park or swimming.

I think a 4-5 hour nap is a little excessive. What time did he get up this morning?

He got up at 6am

I'm going for a nap as soon as DP gets home from shopping.

I'm just up from one. My husband said I looked tired and packed me off to bed. Bloody love a sunday nap!

We're going out for a drive in a bit.

Is it park weather where you are?

Oooh. I love an afternoon nap. I'm luck if I get an hour, though. Today, we're watching the Tour de France, whilst DD mooches about. We are obviously bad, neglectful parents. :)

It's a bit of a misleading thread title really if you're just asking us how you can amuse your baby for a few hours.

Do you have a park nearby?

Yes really nice weather. DD is 11months old so I never know what to do with her at the park! She's still too little for all the equipment

Don't go out then. Just have fun in the house. Are you going out or Going Out? iyswim.

Why does he need a nap? 6am isn't excessively early - certainly not to justify a 4-5 hour nap!

What do you normally do whilst he has his 'naps'?

4-5 hours is not an afternoon nap - it's going to bed early. Or, if done regularly, (which I think I remember your recent thread re: him napping this long EVERY sat and sun) it is Parental Avoidance.

If you are the woman with the H who naps every sat and sun for 4-5 hours then your problem really isnt how to entertain your DD in that time.

If you are not that woman, then go out! The sun is shining, even just a tootle round the shops is enough for them at that age. Do you have a sand pit at the park? If not, take a big blanket and her usual toys and lay on the grass with her. Just being outside usually is enough of a change of scenery for them.

Wake him up after 2.5 hours and tell him you want a bath.

But 4 to 5 hours? He gave you 3. Wake him up after 3. Otherwise what time is spending with you and your daughter.

Well, yes. That's fair. He gets up at silly oclock and you sleep until way after 9. then he goes back to bed in the afternoon.

In terms of sleeping, that's certainly fair.

But - when do you do anything as a family? If it's just sleeping in turns?

We go to bed between 9-10pm

How many hours do you lie in for? 4-5 hours? Or less? If he is getting out of parenting for the same time as you, then fair's fair. However, of you are only getting an hour's lay in, then it's a different story.

I lay in for 4 hours so it's fair enough that he has 4 hours too.
