This is weird tbh.

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 14/07/2012 18:30

Yes, YABU. Wink
Also with regards to the balloon ride, you do know it will be weather dependant? My friend has had hers reschedualed 6 times now.

Mrbojangles1 · 14/07/2012 18:30

What happens if DC ask for something different nearer the time?

Agree, just weird. I've done a bit of stocking fillers but that's it so far,x

That's no fun though OP.

I love going shopping when all the lights are up.

Yabu.

RuleBritannia · 14/07/2012 18:35

You are not weird.

I have bought some Christmas presents this month. I bought Christmas cards at the end of December and I bought gift boxes for the presents last week. I must tell you all that the gift boxes came from Clas Ohlsson and were reduced to 49p each. They weren't quite the perfect shape so I browsed around other shops and, of course, went back to buy them at 49p. I was pleased with myself when I returned home. they are shiny black but I will put Christmas paper round them.

I buy presents when I see them not when I go out looking for them.

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 14/07/2012 18:35

They can't fly if it is windy (above a certain wind speed), very overcast, raining etc. It is a safety issue to fly in bad weather.

All you can do is book a voucher and hope for the best, but I wouldn't bother booking a date if you see what I mean?
Then your DP has a year to take the flight.

Mrbojangles1 · 14/07/2012 18:35

YANBU! I have made a good dent in Christmas presents as I've given up on summer, looking forward to wrapping them all and satisfying my wrapping paper fetish! Grin

163 days to go....

Sirzy · 14/07/2012 18:35

I have started my shopping to spread out the cost but having it done so soon is a bit odd and leaves no flexibility for children's lists to be taken into account

Angelico · 14/07/2012 18:35

I think you're a bit mental - but I envy you in a bizarre way... :o

I also think being too organised takes the excitement out of the build up. I was done by October a few years back and ended up getting carried away and buying extra nearer christmas

MammaTJ · 14/07/2012 18:37

YANBU, I have done a fair bit but still need to find the watch I bought for DD2 two years ago and put somewhere safe!!

Mrbojangles1 · 14/07/2012 18:39

RuleBritannia Grin ita makes things so much cheaper when you buy in sales and spreed the cost now at chirstmas we can just relax and the only cost will be food

Moomoomie · 14/07/2012 18:40

Reminds me of my late Granny. Every year she had all her presents brought and wrapped by September, in case she was no longer with us by Christmas.
I don't even think about Christmas until November.

Mrbojangles1 · 14/07/2012 18:41

Sirzy you can leave one or two till last minute just in case they want somthing extra

See i think oh is the mad one he leave it tii christmas eve

OP posts:
fuzzpig · 14/07/2012 18:41

YANBU to have made a start.

YABU to have finished it all.

HTH!

TheSpokenNerd · 14/07/2012 18:42

I couldn't imagine it! My DC change their minds a hundred times...though I could make a start on my other family's gifts!

magnolia74 · 14/07/2012 18:45

I have only just put the Xmas decs up in the loft!!!! Grin

AKE2012 · 14/07/2012 18:47

I dont know how you can buy christmas presents in july. How do u know what to buy people and how do you make sure that people dont already get it before christmas?

My dd doesnt make up her mind til bout a week b4 christmas & then usually changes it on christmas eve.

Tizzylizzy · 14/07/2012 18:49

Weird. Sorry.

Please don't be one of those people that tells everyone you meet about it.

Sirzy · 14/07/2012 18:50

There is somewhere is between being done in July and only finishing Christmas eve though!
