Urrrgh - a glutfest that starts in July ?

YABU.

bogeyface · 14/07/2012 20:25

Chutney doesnt go out of date! As long as you keep the jar sealed it will keep for years, thats sort of the whole point Hmm

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 14/07/2012 20:30
Shock

Yes. You are weird.

TramadolJacket · 14/07/2012 20:34

Christmas presents? In July?

I am very Envy of your organisational skills, but personally I like to contain the stress to only one month of the year.

Elenio · 14/07/2012 20:36

I will never understand this countries weird obsession with Christmas. It baffles me how you can possibly think about one day of the year so far in advance. Don't even get me started on the ridiculous amount of presents that people buy, it's embarrassing.

DontEatTheVolesKids · 14/07/2012 20:38

Bonkers, I want to see how much more you end up spending anyway nearer to actual date.
There is no way I could get it right if I tried to buy anyone's prez 5 months early.

cheekycurls · 14/07/2012 20:39

aquashiv I had my decs up at the very end of oct last year Blush looking like they will be up mid Nov this year as new baby has plans to shows his face before then Grin

yellowraincoat · 14/07/2012 20:41

YABU for even mentioning christmas in July.

Do we really have to put up with xmas threads for six months of the year? There is a Christmas topic, use it so that for those of us for whom Christmas is a horrible and depressing time of year don't have to listen to your witterings.

valiumredhead · 14/07/2012 20:47

Good for you, I'm always done and dusted really early too but never quite this early Grin

LucieMay · 14/07/2012 20:50

I can't usually even begin to think about Xmas presents until October. Need to get the expense of our holiday/school hols/new stuff for school out of the way first.

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2012 20:50

I wouldn't do this because my kids often ask for toys/games that are not released until the run up to Christmas.

And anyone else I buy for, might end up already having what I bought by the time December arrives.

Also, whatever you buy now, won't be returnable in 5 months time.

Gentleness · 14/07/2012 20:54

Why did you wrap them? I can understand buying them ahead in sales, but the wrapping will look tired and saggy by Christmas, even stored really carefully.

TroLoLoLo · 14/07/2012 20:59

YANBU. I am impressed, very impressed. Well done. I have once or twice managed to be done and dusted by the middle of November and it was fab. I have the added horror of my three DC's birthdays being in the same week just before Xmas. It's stressful. Grin

BellaVita · 14/07/2012 21:02

YABU for not posting this in the Christmas topic!

Ismeyes · 14/07/2012 21:05

I nearly bought my first present to put away today, but then I walked away. I'm planning on doing it all in December this year as I always put stuff away during the year and then find I not only have more than I planned to buy, but also its not always what the person most would like at the time.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 14/07/2012 21:08

You obviously buy for too many people.
I buyfor dcs and occasionally dh.
That is it.

Loshad · 14/07/2012 21:09

oh it does bogeyface, eventually starts to lose its taste and become dry etc, very little lasts for ever.

nappyaddict · 14/07/2012 21:10

I've bought most of my christmas presents throughout the year and usually finish in the summer sales, but don't wrap them til nearer the time.

nappyaddict · 14/07/2012 21:18

Pixel You should open an account with HSBC. Some of their larger branches have a machine that you pour loose change into, it counts it and credits it to your account. I love it!

Mrbojangles1 · 14/07/2012 21:33

That's really weird. Not sure why anyone would feel the need to do this now. Who even knows what they want in nearly 6 months' time?

FrillyMilly · 14/07/2012 22:01

So do you like Christmas or not? If you wrap your presents in July and don't even have a tree to decorate it doesn't seem like you actually enjoy Christmas. I usually have mine all done a couple of weeks before. I enjoy wrapping it all with the tree up and a tin of few quality street. I've never been shopping on Christmas eve though.

nappyaddict · 14/07/2012 22:30

Do you have to put decorations on that tree at least or do you pop it down and up with the decorations still attached?
