We live in a semi but a semi that backs onto another house, so our entire back wall is another house's entire back wall IYSWIM. So upstairs we share a wall on our bedroom, the landing and our bathroom.

The only noise I ever hear from their house is that noise of a pull switch light cord. And the only time I ever hear it is just after I go to the bathroom at night before I go to bed. Whatever the time. I never hear it before or after. Without fail it is just after I leave the bathroom. I go to bed at very random times (DH works away...). it could be 8pm, it could be 1am. Whatever time it is, I always hear that cord go within 20 seconds of me leaving the bathroom...

Uuummmmmm AIBU to think I might be being spied on..??!!! How do I find out for sure?!!

Raspberrymanlove · 20/07/2012 19:08

gnocci · 20/07/2012 20:01

Oi bugger off! It's not a bloody wind-up!!!!

Nout happened - light switch still going - heard it at least 4 nights this week. Heard nothing from letting agent regarding this and havent had time to chase.

I have a theory that the "plumber" was the neighbour coming to install another spy camera.

Staverton · 20/07/2012 20:57

do you know your landlord?
do you know where he lives?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 20/07/2012 21:00

Yay! I'm really glad disappointed that you are ok and not under the patio!

Pinot · 20/07/2012 21:01

I read some of this thread when it kept popping up in active before, I've read some of it now. I have to admit I don't get it at all.

OP's neighbours have a light switch and turn their lights on and off (sometimes 4 nights a week). Quite often this occurs while she is going to bed, meaning either she disturbs them so they wake up needing a wee or they go to the loo often but this is the only time she hears it.

Other people reading the thread are freaked out by this and assume OP has been kidnapped when a few days go by without posts.

Generally people stay quiet when they're spying on their neighbours, they don't loudly turn their lights on and off. Cameras and other spying equipment don't make noises like light switches, light switches make noises like light switches.

Have I read the same thread as everyone else?

50ShadesOfGreggs · 20/07/2012 22:08

Yay! gnocci is alive!

plaguegroup there is A LOT more to it than this

You need to read the bits you have skipped, about the loft, the plumber etc.

Oh, and gnocci: Yes it was a rather boring update, please don't it again it is very disappointing :o

50ShadesOfGreggs · 20/07/2012 22:13

plaguegroup isn't it a bit weird that you are the only poster saying this thread isn't spooky, yet your post was #666?

Now THAT was spooky! :o

Babylon1 · 20/07/2012 22:17

Oh Gnocci, thank goodness!!!

You're alive!!

Can we please have a more exciting update next time, even if it is a complete fabrication Grin

GobblersKnob · 20/07/2012 22:21

I have seen this thread so many times in active convos but ony got around to reading it tonight. Thank you for keeping me very entertained for an hour while dp watches shit on the telly and I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Plaguegroup · 20/07/2012 22:36

Perhaps I am a spy for the scary spying neighbour and my message being number 666 is, in fact, a secret message that it is time to go and get gnocci

It's just a coincidence, honestly. Grin

I've read the bit about the loft and the plumber and I still think it's a light switch making the noise.

valiumredhead · 20/07/2012 22:37

YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!!!!! Grin phew!

DancesWithSockPuppets · 21/07/2012 10:18

Fools! That's not gnocci! It's the neighbour in his gnocci suit.

He's gone onto Mumsnet after eating her liver with some fava beans and a fruit shoot.

DancesWithSockPuppets · 21/07/2012 10:18

Ooh, that rhymes.

FannyFifer · 21/07/2012 17:46

plagugroup I was of the same opinion back on page one if I recall Grin

TheSilverPussycat · 24/07/2012 16:12

Thank goodness I live in a detached house or I might creep myself out :)
