Katie Hopkins is one vile person. Narcissistic much?

Yeah it's the dreaded DM but...

What she actually does is pay the bills including the wages of the nanny.

I have spoken to someone from the CSA who's whole job is apparently to tell me the bleeding obvious, I have worked for a local government department that actually did nothing but try to produce stuff to justify it's existence and I am currently a student. All pointless but ultimately part of a system (and we all used childcare BTW). You can have an opinion and not have a justifiable job.

Viviennemary · 29/06/2012 00:09

What a totally selfish and irresponsible person she comes across as. Missing scans. Were the appointments cancelled properly. Does she not know that costs the NHS money. Seldom has an article screamed me me me me me as much as this one did. She is obviously the most important person in her narrow self-centred little world.

LapsusLinguae · 29/06/2012 00:20

I will have to fork out for our nanny?s maternity pay upfront, but the Government will reimburse me eventually.

Err no - you can claim advance funding from HMRC. Hmm

Zero research into this article from either KH or the DM

Whilst I am on the topic can I point out that small employer's receive over 100% of the SMP back from HMRC...

nothingoldcanstay · 29/06/2012 00:25

Actually if she was as bad as all that she could have employed someone from Christ knows where cash in hand and not had to worry about all this.
"Au pairs" are dime a dozen and it's cash, a nice house in London/wherever and a few contacts to a lot of girls.
She's done it legit and to be honest it's going to cost her. Don't see the problem in pointing that out.

Whatmeworry · 29/06/2012 00:47

Yes she is a prat, but shooting the messenger doesn't negate the point of the message, parents are not by band large Megacorps with oodles of staff and money so it doesn't impact them.

sesameflower · 29/06/2012 01:05

"my nanny is the parent I can't be bothered to" sad.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 29/06/2012 01:22

Either she's uber-successful, her giant salary can justify the cost of the nanny, and so GBP136 per week and a few thousand to the recruitment agency is jack all OR she's not, it doesn't and it's a meaningful amount.

Wish she'd make her mind up.

Anyway, I think what we all have to remember is that KH's ft job is being a strange, distorted version of KH, just like Katie Price's job is being Jordon.

sashh · 29/06/2012 02:56

I think if the only thing you have to complain about is your nanny being pregnant you don't really have any problems.

mathanxiety · 29/06/2012 03:27

The nanny is the person who makes her busy and well paid life possible yet she thinks it sucks when she finds she has to fund the nanny's mat leave and pay to recruit a replacement.

If she hired staff as office workers she would be paying the same and it would be just as much of a pita to replace someone, but that is not really her issue here imo -- the silly cow clearly thinks a nanny has no business having a sex life while the children are entrusted to her care so that thought hasn't occurred to her. I honestly think women like KH have just as much of a madonna/ whore complex as some men have.

I don't know why she feels her cavalier attitude to her health and her babies' health during the physical process of pregnancy is a badge of pride either -- what audience is she trying to impress with all that posturing? What a sad way to approach your life. Really messed up, imo.

She wants excellent care for her brood, she wants to be able to hire and fire freely, and she wants a nanny in her household to have taken a vow of virginity.
'I?m not the one who made the choice to become pregnant, yet she can ask me for maternity leave, maternity pay, days off sick, and time off for scans, often with little notice.'
The cheek of that nanny, behaving like a grown up woman without permission, and asking for her legal rights as an employee to be respected.

'What strikes me is that, as an employer, I have been landed with onerous responsibilities towards my staff, but I have no rights.' Cry about it Hmm.

mathanxiety · 29/06/2012 03:46

I have looked at her blog.

She is a pitiless savage.

'Just what is the point of all these slipper clad wrecks, washed up in the land of the living? They make it more difficult for me to get a doctor?s appointment for my young children, they cloy up the NHS to breaking point and they are not prepared for a life that has gone on well beyond anything regarded as decent or reasonable.

This is not a cautionary tale. I have no edifying reassurance about the wisdom of the aged, no fable about the old, nor have I come to see beyond my heartless economic view. I just wonder why are we so desperate to sustain life beyond its normal course, to the point of making certain resources unobtainable for the young, out of reach of the real living and rammed full of the not yet dead.

As we progress through life, surely the onus should be shifted from the state to the individual, requiring proof that they have provided for their elongated ?old age?, making individuals accountable for their desire to live to the point of senility with mobility. '

Fucking Nazi.

Gin30 · 29/06/2012 06:25

I couldn't believe she wrote that about elderly people too. God help her when she gets old and becomes - as she puts it - a slipper clad wreck.

In fact, every view she has on that blog is vile.

She is a horrible, horrible woman. Yes, it is a pain finding new childcare but she has time to sort that out.

Mind you, if I was applying to be her childrens nanny and then read that article and blog. I wouldn't bother. I wouldn't want to work for her.

noblegiraffe · 29/06/2012 07:16

When she says that women have the right to time off for sickness, antenatal appointments and maternity leave while she has none as an employer, what does she want, exactly? The right to say 'No, you can't be pregnant, it's too inconvenient'?

Would she have us back at women having to lose their jobs the minute they get married in case they inconvenience their employer by reproducing?

NeedlesCuties · 29/06/2012 08:12

mathanxiety I am shocked at her pov on her blog. Hateful and horrid views :(

echt · 29/06/2012 08:21

What a fearful shit that woman is.

rookiemater · 29/06/2012 08:34

Math the good news is that once she gets old her DCs get to pick her nursing home Grin Hmm I wonder how considerate they will be to (useless old) mummikins then, particularly if they read any of her vile outpourings about them.

mummytime · 29/06/2012 08:46

I do feel very sorry for the kids. Actually its one case where a nice boarding school could be good for them, give them stability.

I would strongly advise any Nannys I know not to apply or go to an interview with her. So it could be a hard search.

PrettyPrinceofParties · 29/06/2012 08:58

She organises her 'diary like a man'? If my male ex bosses are anything to go by that means she gets a female secretary to do it! Grin

Boring and predictable 'I'm like a man' argument - I thought that was an 80s thing. Her take on stay at home dads was awful too. I honestly don't understand why th woman had kids. She strikes me as the type that would whip out her womb in a jar at interviews to prove how dependable and man-like she is.

She's a walking contradiction. She pulled out of the Apprentice due to child care, makes a big deal about working like a man and ring guilt free about it, then bats her eyelids and did the lady Di look each time she was in the boardroom.

FFS, just gat a male nanny, love.

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2012 09:02

Is a lot of it just bluster to wind everyone up? Bit like Jeremy Clarkson? is it possible she's actually ok? Only a thought.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 29/06/2012 09:25

sparkling That's what I suspect- that Katie Hopkins Plc, the revenue earning unit, bears very little resemblance to the actual Katie Hopkins.

Persona vs. person

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2012 09:27

Exactly Rich. I'm not saying she's a fabulous person, but I think that if you say preposterous things people will be annoyed (as we all are), and everyone will talk about it.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 29/06/2012 09:33

To be fair, if I could make a lot of cash from saying controversial and mean things in the press, I probably would. It might actually be quite fun.

You could tell, even watching her on the Apprentice, that a lot of her comments in the "reflective bits" were scripted/ suggested

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 29/06/2012 09:36

This is why reality TV doesnt often work- real life people/events arent usually defined enough to hold interest so eventually producers start to pimp them a bit/ round out the story lines to make it all a bit more exciting........or they just go downt the Big brother route and find people who are just plain old fashioned unhinged.

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2012 09:37

She went into the bloody jungle didn't she? All credibility gone.

elizaregina · 29/06/2012 09:42

"they are not prepared for a life that has gone on well beyond anything regarded as decent or reasonable."

I think her life cannot be regarded as decent or reasonable.

How is she going to explain her vitriol about her children to her children?

" Darling, the article when I said I missed your scan, that paid for our holiday in Italy..."?

I think she belongs in a sort of freak circus, you put her in a cage, lift up the cloth and poke her with a stick and away she goes, have a good laugh at her or enjoy being shocked by her........when you have had enough...you simply put the cloth back over her.....,and move on...

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2012 09:46

She and Liz Jones and that Brick woman. The DM keep employing them although nobody likes them.
