to be disgruntled that Lindsay Lohan (terribly sad fucked up individual) is playing Elizabeth Taylor in a movie?

oh what really YANBU Lindsay lohan has supposed to be in a lot of films and they never get made or she ends up in jail/rehab maybe this will happen. saying that Liz taylor wasnt an angel and was quite wild in her time,

LL is a fantastic actress, she has been vilified in the press for doing no more or less than any other young starlet out there. She has been subjected to the most misogynistic and disgusting reportage and I wouldn't believe it all tbh.

Liz Taylor wasn't the virgin Mary, I don't see why you have to have great morals to play her. You need to be a great actress which LL actually is.

I don't know, but I do know that Lindsay Lohan is not the only 26 year old actress in the world and I'd guess that 99% of the other actresses who could play the age for the movie are more talented than her.

I don't think L L is a great actress tbh i have only seen her in kids teen films so not really a comparison but she really is nothing special imo Liz taylor had screen presence didn't she i dont think LL has that,

I was surprised when I first heard about it, but its a made for TV one.

So far this week she has written off her car and been found uncouncious on the floor of her room.

She is a great actress, she was constantly hired and still is despite her personal life. Sit down and actually watch The Parent Trap, note how young she was when she did that. Get "I know who killed me" and watch her acting. The films may be shit but she is excellent, even industry producers admit that about her.

Didn't ET go to rehab several times? Isn't that where she met her final husband? Maybe LL can get inside the character a bit because of the lives they both led?
ET was a great actress but a troubled soul...possibly great casting?

I think she looks a bit like Liz Taylor and I believe they had developed a friendship before she died. I think she is a good actress and the fact that she is a bit fucked up / tragic means she would be great for the role.

Elizabeth Taylor was undoubtedly a legend, but not for her acting ability, more so for her marriages and jewellery. She sound like she had a wild time if it! Smile

I often think that LL gets a lot of hard and unjust press. She doesnt seem any worse than dozens of other celebs, but for some reason the media are determined to hound her relentlessly.

She wasnt "found unconcious", she had been working for a few very long days, was exhausted and went for a good sleep. Again, the media got wind of it, and blew it out of all proportion to the point that twitter was reporting her dead.. :(

Well I think Liz herself was a bit of a wreck at times wasnt she . Plus, LL is actually quite a good actress.

Maybe we should actually wait until it comes out and see if before we decide whether LL was the right choice or not. I dunno, someone wholesome like CZJ -well she probably wouldnt have the same impact.

Idont see any reason LL shouldnt play Liz. Is she revered? If so, i never knew.

I think LT is one of those actresses who have very much benefitted from retrospective glamour. Its the era shes from that makes her seem more impactful than sje ever really was.

Not a great beauty, nota great actress, just from a very interesting time that people tend to look back on fondly i think.

If only non-bonkers tremendously well adjusted without any personal issues actors were hired to play meaty roles we would have a rather limited selection of faces to watch onstage and screen.

I think YABU, actually - I've seen a few photos of LiLo as Liz Taylor and she does look pretty good as her! this is one of them, there are others (was reading trashy sleb mag at the doc's the other day).

But who will play her Dick? Liz T. was a massive looping roller coast of good times and bad. Recently LL seems to be mired in the bad.
Liz's mother was perhaps not disimilar to LL's, pushy piece of work by all accounts. However, Liz Taylor would wipe the floor with La Lohan, drink her under the table and still be on set, full face of slap ready to do the work. Divorces bereavements major ill health, she vaulted the lot in stilletos
Bad Press? Can we look at the international scandal when liz met dick? Lindsay gets snipped at by Perez Hilton but does not help herself landing arse up in a bush outside her own house cos she can't walk proper.

Liz had Oscars, better jewellery, more husbands and most importantly more talent. LL will not be able to capture a fraction of the woman's range. She is too young and too shallow. They are not and never will be in the same league. Glad it is only made for television.

Who was the one? Cheryl something. Was she in the David Lynch telly thing, can't remember. Now she looked alot like LT.
