To think that people have the principles they can afford?

Do you have, or know anyone that does, principles that would absolutely not be ditched in the event of greater wealth?

Namechanged. I've decided to forget about it all now, but it sounds a wee bit similar to your situation (with me being your mate and her being you, but I NEVER said anything to her, I kept it all in).

Hullygully · 15/06/2012 19:36

V wise, avoiding the sandwich in the gob.

Did you decide you were worng? Or that you forgave her? Or that it didn't matter?

b and c.

I really do hope it all works out in the wash.

Hullygully · 15/06/2012 19:40

Thanks. I don't think it will but hey ho.

OP posts:
Mintyy · 15/06/2012 19:44

Well, it will if you b and c too?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 15/06/2012 20:11

I was going to post about a friend of mine. There was an incident recently that really upset me but it?s been going on for a good decade; basically little (but cumulatively corrosive) digs and patronising sympathy about my career choices, financial position, relationship with dp...

Then, for once, I proofread it and Good Grief I sounded at least as bad as her.

That is most certainly NOT the case for either Hully or LeQ, btw, but it was a good exercise.

You should charge therapy space rental, Hulz.

Our principles would not change one jot.

The DC would still go to indy schools
I would still shop in John Lewis and MS
And usually Sainsburys for food
We would still have hols in the South of France
Run an economical and an electric car
Be thinking of downsizing
Maximise green measures, ie, photovoltaic panels
Have BUPA
Both go to work
Vote Tory, although I might go part-time and become a local councillor (Tory of course) and DH could be tempted to stand as a UKIP candidate Blush
Still buy bits in the poundshop and treat me and dd to canvas pumps from Shoezone
Buy the odd Greggs sausage roll and white crusty loaf

But on the other hand, many would say neither of us had much in the way of principles in the first place Grin

Chubfuddler · 15/06/2012 22:16

I want to be Marriedinwhite when I grow up.

yellowraincoat · 16/06/2012 07:41

You'd like to be married to a UKIP supporter Chubfuddler ?

That's sort of scary.

Hullygully · 16/06/2012 08:39

Jenai Grin

TuftyFinch · 16/06/2012 08:40

So how did it go? Did you bring out the Branston?

Dawndonna · 16/06/2012 10:27

married Your dh does know that ukip support the death penalty and putting disabled people into seperate 'villages and towns'?

marriedinwhite · 16/06/2012 10:46

Dawndonna I have just checked UKIPs website and there is nothing there to suggest support for either of the statements you have made.

Hullygully · 16/06/2012 10:48

sadly not tifty. It was a great big event so there was just that kind of eye-sliding thing with no contact made and enough other people that it wasn't glaringly obvious...I left as soon as decent.

All mouth and no sandiwhces, see.

OP posts:
Hullygully · 16/06/2012 10:49

I still want to know:

  1. When and why tifty didn't speak for a year
  2. Abs' story
  3. How on earth the idea of the bendy burger ever came up. Who sat there and went, Hey, I know! We'll put loads of tiny cuts all along the frankfurter.

I want to see:

  1. the post Jenai made and thought better of posting
  2. the email Hully wrote and thought better of sending

ere Hully, if you didn't actually speak to each other (rather than being polite in a fristy way) that sounds like it could be a more temporary thing- ie both of you will reach boiling point of Utter Fury, then clear the air, and all will be unicorns and blue skies once more

no?

[hopeful]

SpringHeeledJack · 16/06/2012 15:13

gah

frosty

hackmum · 16/06/2012 15:21

There is actually a Cathy & Claire book (though sadly temporarily out of stock, according to Amazon): www.amazon.co.uk/Jackies-Dear-Cathy-Claire-Favourite/dp/1853756032

I agree about Mariella Frostrup. I only read her column so I can enjoy feeling righteously indignant. She spends at least half of every answer talking about her own experience.

How did it go, Hully?

hackmum · 16/06/2012 15:22

Oh, sorry, way behind the curve here.

Hullygully · 16/06/2012 15:34

I did send an email, and I had a reply. Just didn't put them on here...
