I feel itchy just reading it!

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 23:59

I found head lice awful to deal with for DD-treated myself twice even though I didn't actually find anything. I wish there was something that could stop children getting them completely. The treatment is horribly greasy and the ten min one didn't work on my Dd so had to do the overnight grease one

kneesofbees · 13/06/2012 00:08

I have the overnight one.

Had a bit of an itchy head which I thought was probably dandruff. Thought I'd absent mindedly have a go with the bit comb Blush

I pulled a massive one out that was still alive and waving its legs at me Sad

< cackle >

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 13/06/2012 00:13

at least you didn't discover that you had lice when one fell out and landed next to your breakfast waving its legs in the air.

bronze · 13/06/2012 00:14

Haha AF
Who has an itchy arse now? Grin

WhereYouLeftIt · 13/06/2012 00:15

That was unkind AF! Smile

bogeyface · 13/06/2012 00:16

Scabies is hilarious too, and they live just under the skin.....:o

AnyFucker · 13/06/2012 00:17

my children have always shared everything with me

the itchy, scabby, infested little ratbags Grin

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 00:22

oh no worms! I spent months obsessing over them after playgroup sent a letter home about them. DH said will you please stop going on about worms its all we ever talk about Grin

Trioofprinces · 13/06/2012 00:22

I had them for months when pregnant with DS2, couldn't use the chemicals so DH had to condition and nit comb my hair every two days. It limited them but took months to totally get rid of them! I was paranoid someone would notice but thankfully they didn't.

I also got them from the kids a year or so ago and got rid with the stinky overnight lotion. Sadly the smell made DH violently sick and resulted in the only ever night I have slept in the spare room in 18yrs!!

RiaOverTheRainbow · 13/06/2012 00:25

When I had them last year I seriously considered shaving my head just to get the horrible nasty disgusting things off me. I have hair down to my hips. I'm not normally squeamish at all Confused Envy

I found the nitty-gritty comb the most effective.

I remember once discovering worms in me at midnight. This was before the days of all night chemists at Asda and the like, no "walk in clinics"

I spent a completely sleepless night sat mainly upright on the toilet scrubbing my arse until it bled and hooking the bastards out on toilet roll.

they actually live in your bowel where you can't feel them

the "itching" you feel is when one of them actually emerges out your anus to lay eggs

imagine knowing that was happening ?

I was at the chemist at 9am next day with matchsticks on my eyes and unable to sit down for a week, in no small part because I laundered everything in the house on a boil wash about 20 times

shall I get this post deleted now ?

StuntGirl · 13/06/2012 00:31

Shock Oh my god AF!! :(

AnyFucker · 13/06/2012 00:35

this was many years ago

I am still not over the trauma of that night !

bogeyface · 13/06/2012 00:39

I know someone who swears blind she gave her BF lice on his hoohar after she caught them from her kids and then got down and dirty with him. She says he texted her to say he had crabs, was very embarrassed, must have got them at the gym, hadnt cheated etc and was waiting for her to explode. She realised what had happened and was fine with him!

I am not sure i entirely believe her but still made me at the thought :o

I mean, it is even possible as pubes are very different to head hair arent they?!

I shaved my head when I got them from children at a volunteering project at uni 10 years ago. Gone immediately, no chemicals, no risk of passing them on.

I'd always had long hair until then (long enough to sit on) and said I would never cut it. So glad I did, I've kept it short ever since.

AnyFucker · 13/06/2012 00:45

that isn't possible, AFAIK

completely different species (of hair, and of crittur)

I can at least say I haven't had crabs

I have had a Bartholin's Cyst though

that was a trauma too, I won't go there though, people will be having nightmares if I do

bogeyface · 13/06/2012 00:47

I thought it wasnt possible, good story though!

AnyFucker · 13/06/2012 00:49

you can't "catch crabs at the gym" either

unless you've been rubbing crotches with someone at the gym, of course

your poor friend, bogey Sad

bogeyface · 13/06/2012 00:54

I dont think that he had crabs either. She is known for ..... embellishing the truth shall we say? She has lied about all sorts of things, including (but not limited to Wink) owning a rather large house when she rented a teeny flat.

She deserves sympathy but more her low self esteem :(

Lueji · 13/06/2012 01:26

We have just treated our cat for fleas and I think they decided we were yummy after all.
Yuck.
Have covered the house, bedclothes and ourselves in insecticide.
If it doesn't work, I'll get ourselves Frontlined. :-)

I remember I got fa lea fogger in the UK, but I haven't seen it here yet. Maybe I should check in pet stores.

I hate the bite marks and I get quite a reaction.

No help that mosquitos abound too. I have no idea which motherfuckers have attacked us sometimes. Angry

PS - I don't usually swear, BTW.

AdoraBell · 13/06/2012 04:17

NBUR at all, I felt like screaming when I realised I'd picked them up from DDs last year. I was tempted to shave my head for a while.
