Is it unreasonable to start fancying someone you've never found attractive...

...because you had a saucy dream about them?!

Am I the only person this has happened to? Most recent example was last night. I've just remembered the dream because of a reference in another thread.

In my dream, Hugh Grant took me by private jet to his house on the Isle of Man (no idea if he has a house on the Isle of Man, nor why the Isle of Man, a place I have no connection to whatsoever, featured) and was trying to seduce me but I was spurning his advances because I'm married.

I have never ever previously found HG remotely attractive and think he comes across as very slimy and arrogant but my flashbacks to the dream have made me come over all unneccessary!

Has this happened to anyone else or AIBU to allow my dreams to affect me like this?!

It's happened to me. YANBU.

Jason Statham... Who I have a probably unnecessary dislike of since I don't actually know him... But after watching Rock'n'Rolla and saw him with hair...

I prefer not to think about it though, he makes my skin crawl

fallenangle · 08/06/2012 17:17

Happened to me several times. I'm not saying who. It made me wonder if I have been repressing attraction towards a certain type of man.

LentillyFart · 08/06/2012 17:17

It happened to me once with Gordon Brown but I still can't bring myself to talk about it!

It happened to me with someone I knew 14 years ago. Did not fancy him at all. Dreamt of sex with him, woke up crying because 'it could never be'. Very confused.

He's out buying something for dinner, our daughter is watching TV.

Emo76 · 08/06/2012 17:18

Someoene I worked with. hahahha soon wore off Grin

PandaWatch · 08/06/2012 17:18

That's worse antsy because you made a conscious decision to fancy him Grin. I blame my new Hugh Grant attraction wholly on some sort of Inception-style sub-conscious brain-washing!

Hugh Grant took me by private jet to his house on the Isle of Man

And if you'd dreamed his 10 year old banger to his shack in Newham... :o

AdventuresWithVoles · 08/06/2012 17:19

Especially when it's someone you mentally wrote off immediately the moment you met them as physically repulsive. But then lewd thoughts spring out of nowhere & won't clear off .

PandaWatch · 08/06/2012 17:20

Lentilly that makes me feel better Grin

Aww Julia that's lovely!

Any clues fallenangle? C'mon, Lentilly admitted Gordon Brown!

Had same kind of dream about Ed Milliband - think I probably need counselling!Confused

antsypants · 08/06/2012 17:26

I do NOT fancy Jason Statham
I do NOT fancy Jason Statham
I do NOT fancy Jason Statham

(shudder)

This reminds me of the charming boy I did fancy at school who was just repulsive and creepy... Completely my type

PandaWatch thats just plain mean - will probably need some kind of actual brain surgery now ....

SameageasKylie · 08/06/2012 17:31

I had a similar dream about Dec (from Ant & Dec).. I was depressed for weeks after waking up and realising he didn't fancy me after all.

I would squash him in real life I don't think we are compatible, but the dream still gives me peculiar feelings when he comes on TV !

fallenangle · 08/06/2012 17:33

Yes she did admit to Gordon Brown. But Ross Kemp is worse.

fallenangle · 08/06/2012 17:36

sameage Even in a dream that is impossible, Dec is never ever anywhere without Ant.

MaisyMooCow · 08/06/2012 17:37

Chris Tarrant. I fell hopelessly in love with him.

Then I woke up thank God. Grin

albertswearengen · 08/06/2012 17:38

George Osborne. I felt dirty for weeks. I cannot stand the sight of the man.

SameageasKylie · 08/06/2012 17:38

Would it be too much if I said that Ant featured in there somewhere too.. We were driving in a car and the both just loved me. Not sexual, just a feeling of love. Very strange.

fallenangle · 08/06/2012 17:40

Oh, Albert No!

StiffyByng · 08/06/2012 17:41

God, this happens to me all the time. Usually men I work with or know socially, always ones I have no interest in at all beforehand, or after given a few days. But it's fecking embarrassing.

PandaWatch · 08/06/2012 17:49

Fallen did it finish with him saying "I could see things were about to kick off so I had to get out of there"? Grin

The most disappointed I have felt after waking up after a dream was one where DH and I chased armed raiders away from Tom Cruise's house whilst he was doing yoga in the garden (?!) and afterwards we all became best friends Confused
