To think Stokke pushchairs look ridiculous?

Honestly I turn around whenever I see one. The futuristic look is quite ridiculous and they look like a heap of cheap plastic.
Can't imagine why anyone would spend £800 to buy one!

Yes , and only for tall people ! Daft!

RubyFakeNails · 02/06/2012 22:08

Do you have a link?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 02/06/2012 22:09

YANBU. They look like wobbly office chairs masquerading as buggies...

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/06/2012 22:10

Yanbu, I always think they are about to tip over!

WorraLiberty · 02/06/2012 22:10

Have you got a link?

I'm not sure if I've ever seen one.

Some Mums do make me laugh though (usually first time Mums) when they buy these huge complicated travel systems that takes a degree in engineering to learn to fold it.

The really funny part is when they relent and buy a nice light little stroller so they can actually travel on the bus without their 'travel systems' Grin

GinevraMollyWeasley · 02/06/2012 22:11

A quick google tells me they are the ones on a kind of stalk, fair enough but I'd hate to have the bag in that position, on some of them almost out of sight. I worry about my purse etc even when it's on me!

PreviouslyonLost · 02/06/2012 22:11

YANBU...

but I also have an odd reaction to bugabooo's...those strange hospital trolley wheels

olimpia · 02/06/2012 22:13

here

WorraLiberty · 02/06/2012 22:15

Oh yes I've seen them!

Where the fuck are you supposed to put your shopping? Confused

They do look rather flimsy too, even if they're not.

olimpia · 02/06/2012 22:16

worra exactly!

I'm so glad my kids are older now and were at the pram stage when prams actually looked like prams!

popsnsqeeze · 02/06/2012 22:17

My sister has one, it is too bizarre

YoulllaughAboutItOneDay · 02/06/2012 22:18

I have warmed to them a bit, but when DD1 was born we called them 'baby on a stick' prams.

milkymocha · 02/06/2012 22:20

I was once told by a Stokke saleswoman that they were made higher up than normal pushchairs to prevent children from breathing in lots of car fumes as normal buggies are at the same height as car exhausts.

Not sure about them myself, iam a 'hospital trolley' mum though so not sure my opinion counts Blush

WorraLiberty · 02/06/2012 22:20

Youll I was going to say they look like they convert into a pogo stick for when the child's older Grin

applepieinthesky · 02/06/2012 22:20

What a pile of shite. That is all.

WorraLiberty · 02/06/2012 22:21

Huh?

But car fumes travel up and around anyway? Confused

Sandalwood · 02/06/2012 22:21

I feel like that about one I saw the other day. A Quinny 'something' with a white frame - looks like gym equipment.

YoulllaughAboutItOneDay · 02/06/2012 22:21

Worra - Grin. That would be handy though eh?

Shesparkles · 02/06/2012 22:21

I see the point about the child sitting higher up, I managed to achieve that with my Silver Cross coach built pram

Bagofholly · 02/06/2012 22:22

YABU. The are the shizzle! They look a bit odd but OMG it's the pram that keeps on giving!

Firstly, the handle is great for v v tall types but also adjusts for shorties. And you can rest your wrists on it.

The shopping bag just lifts off. All prams should have a lift off bag, so you don't have to rummage about underneath. You just pick it up.

The baby is MUCH MUCH higher than in any other pram. Closer to you, away fr exhausts.

The seat sits properly upright do you never need a highchair. Ever.

The seat/carrycot is height adjustable. Great for days out - little one can see up and out, and faces either way.

It takes the maxi cosi car seat or their own car seat, which actually lies flat!!!

The back wheels fold under the front so you can use it very easily on stairs and escalators! You have to see it to believe it!

The seat is big - my tall 3 year old can still sleep in his.

Beautiful styling, solid design. Near to perfect pram.

WorraLiberty · 02/06/2012 22:22

It would be handy for me

I could reach the top shelf in the supermarket Grin

YoulllaughAboutItOneDay · 02/06/2012 22:22

Ah, see I don't get the point of Silver Cross either TBH. That would take up most of my living room!

MsKittyFane · 02/06/2012 22:23

They look like a high chair on wheels! Would they topple over very easily? Probably not but they're a bit silly looking.

takingiteasy · 02/06/2012 22:23

They are bizzare looking things.

I will not hear a bad word about the Bugaboo though! Although I don't like the look of the bee, I'm a Frog lady!
