I wish I could just go all european and not do hair removal but it makes me itchy thinking about it.

My DP manages not to get a mouthful of hair too although he does enjoy burying his nose in it

I'm all for the feminism, but I don't think it's too much to ask to keep yourself well groomed for your partner.

There's more to sex than just penises penetrating vaginas, and I think that is where the 'better view' comes in. Not to put too fine a point on it, but porn-viewing men like to see women's genitals and pubes block that.

This is a 20 year old woman who hates having to do this to herself, resents the unpleasant side effects, and is refusing to have sex with her partner because she 'feels silly' that she has a rash. And yet further on in the thread she claims it is entirely her choice to go bare and she prefers it that way for comfort and hygiene reasons. If she feels fed up and pressured with the whole slog of it now, how is she going to feel when she has a baby clamped to her tit 12 hours a day and screaming toddler at her feet?!

The only reason she dreads the itching is because she keeps taking it all off with a razor which leaves rough, blunt regrowth. If she just trimmed it to a neat, close shape, and maybe waxed or Veet around the bikini line there would be no itch, and no rash. But she has got herself trapped in a cycle of fear and loathing of perfectly normal pubic hair.

Ooo I still get a rash and ingrowns and I epillate or veet my bikini line only. I find that veet leaves you with a 5 o'clock shadow more than anything!

On a plus note, I found THE BEST swimming costume yesterday that instead of finishing at knicker level, finishes like hotpants so I no longer have to tackle it unless I want to! Joy!

Right, so I can't imagine any man, versed in the techniques of cunnilingus, administering it without using hands and fingers. I mean, you need to separate the labia to even get at the clitoris, so you're eliminating any pubes from the equation, anyway.

So what was the whole post about then? Of course I wasn't suggesting psychological damage, just that she is putting rather too much pressure on herself to continue to do something that she clearly finds intolerable and unpleasant, and detrimental to her sex life, which presumably is the opposite of the intention, and yet she is adamant that she needs to do it.
